Anyone from the Flint area

I am looking for anyone that is from the Flint area; that had their surgery at McLaren hospital.  I am waiting on insurance approval, and I want to know how was your experience at McLaren.  Thank you in advance for any information you can give me.

I'm from the Flint area but, I had mine at Hurley!  I haven't heard of anyone using McLaren.  Let us know how it goes!

I prefer McLaren over Hurley, but it just happens that I am having my VSG done at Hurley. Once I started the process I couldn't change bariatric centers due to DH being laid off and COBRA insurance.

Both my mom and sister had their RNY with Dr. Dabideen -- he's an excellent surgeon who has been around forever.  He started the Hurley Bariatric Center and then moved over to McLaren to begin their program.  I was actually going to use him as my surgeon too, but I was happier with Hurley's aftercare than what McLaren was offering at the time. 

There is a Flint Area Bariatric Support Group (FABS) that you are welcome to attend.  We have several members who had surgery at McLaren.  We meet the third Monday of the month at 5:30 in the classroom at Hurley Health and Fitness Center (corner of Saginaw and Hemphill).  It's an informal peer-to-peer type support group and everyone is welcome!  I hope you can come!

I am from the Flint area.  I did not have my surgery at Mclaren but I did have my original RNY by Dr. Dabideen at Hurley back in 2001.  He is a very good surgeon and also a trauma surgeon.  You will be in good hands.
