home from the hospital
I had my RNY thursday and I am home from the hospital. My belly is KILLING me, they gave me loritab which is working well. I had a great experience with dr. Kraus and Beaumont nurses and everyone. But as much as I have been walking and moving, the gas will not pass and I am in soo much pain, I feel like I have to have a BM but am too constipated. I have a heating pad on my belly right now, I am hoping I can walk it out, does anyone have any suggestions? It is wierd to think of my little pouch in there! kinda neat actually.
Congrats!!! Welcome to the loosing side of life!
As far as the abd pain goes, your doing what you need to....in time, this to shall pass...sorry I just had to. My only suggestion on that front is to keep up the walking.
How goes the shakes and water intake? remember sip, sip, sip. Also remember take care of you too, walk when you can, rest when you need to.
Good luck,
Edie

Finally at 2:30 this morning! what a relief! I took benefiber. I am so excited to be part of the "losers club" my husband joaking calls me "skinny Bi&&H" haha, he has started my plastics savings account for when the weight is gone!! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful support system, my mom has taken vacation to stay with us and take care of the kids.
My hubby calls me skinny all the time now, I love it!!! That fund that he is setting up will come in handy one day, sooner than you expect I hope!!!
Glad to hear the benefiber helped. My hubby (who is 5 weeks post op) is taking it everyday, he says it helped, but with your diet just being shakes for the next week or so expect a very slow moving digestive system, if you know what I mean. The other thing we found that helps is sugar alcohols, you can get the sf candy, our favorite is Nips, I like the carmel and hubby likes the coffee flavored, anyways, a few of those a day helps, also, sf Popsicles, sf pudding....look for those sugar alcohols, they will really help in the next few months (and they are much better tasting than MOM, benefiber, citrical.....)

Hi,
Dr Krause did my RYN 6 years ago and he basically saved my life. The pain gets better as time goes on. Try and drink and much as you can so you don't get dehydrated. If you really can't stand it, call Dr Krause. He can call something in for you to your pharmancy. Stay away from aspirin products, I'm sure he told you that.
Best of luck
Robin
