Good morning all -

Holy Cow!  Talk about a crazy day at the office.  Is it 5:00 yet?
I expect to be on the phone most of the day because of the following news...

If you haven't already heard.... Brooks Patterson has decided not to run for governor of Michigan.

QOTD -- This weekend is still a bit up in the air.  Looks like we're probably going to eat Easter dinner on Saturday with the immediate family because everyone needs to scatter to other places (in-laws, etc.).  And apparently my 17 year old nephew has a special request for an Easter Egg Hunt -- done "grandma's way" --- which means scavenger hunt with plastic eggs that clues inside and each egg leads you to the next egg with another clue... eventually leading to an Easter basket.   I thought it was cute that the oldest grandkid has made the request and not the other younger ones.

Otherwise I have the 5k Tax Trot race (with Kristy) in Flushing on Saturday morning.

I heard that briefly on the news last night but fell asleep before I heard the whole story.  Why did he change his mind?

Is he going to continue his current position?

Yes.  That was actually the determining factor in his decision. With the economic crisis and all the budget stuff going on ... he felt he couldn't take a year and a half out on the campaign trail when there was too much work to get done here in Oakland County.  So he's staying put ... as he says, for the remainder of his career.

And now it looks like Detroit just blew up the Cobo deal.  Sheesh!  Getting ready for the phones to start up again....

I do not understand why Detroit won't make a deal with Oakland and the other counties to take care of COBO.  They are going to lose the Autoshow and everything else because Patterson will get them to Novi or they'll just skip Detroit altogether and just do the Chicago show.

I don't know much about Patterson, but I like his candor.

I've given up trying to understand the Detroit City Council.  :: sigh ::

Off to type some dictation about the next new mess...

I had my first fill yesterday!  So, for the next 48 hours, I'm back on liquids.  This morning I've had decaf and protein shakes.

QOTD:
This is the first Easter in a long time I don't have children of any age at home.  Mine are all older, the youngest is now out of college.  But, I have had the older girls and their children living with me.  The oldest moved back in when her house sold and her new one was being built.  Than the middle one moved back in with her family after there house sold, two weeks after sticking a for sale by owner sign in the yard.  She was suppose to be here for 2 week and tuned into 8 months.  I've also had the Grandson at holidays when his parents work.

We all will be at my Mom's house for a easter egg hunt and dinner.  That is the tradition here.

Good Afternoon!
I started my day with skim milk.  Going to get ready to take the dog for a walk, then clean the dust out of my car.
QOTD:  Saturday walking a race in Flushing. Family dinner at my parents on Saturday evening.  My daughter is in Switzerland and my son will be at the Red Wings game.  Going to sunrise service on Sunday and then working 12 hours.
Heading out to enjoy the sunshine.
