Does Milk mean sugar to you?

Do you supplement with Calcium?

Is yogurt your friend or foe?

Today is the 4th level of the food pyramid at My Daily Detour: mydailydetour.typepad.com/

It's all about dairy. This is a hot category for many of us. Some use a lot of dairy in after care, while others avoid it at all costs. Do you know your nutritional facts? Do you get a  lot of calcium from your vegetable choices? Do you consciously spend 15 minutes outside in the sun for a source of Vitamin D? Do you  make protein shakes with non fat milk or water? WHY???

Dairy means a lot of things to many of us....and to some of use extreme opposites. If you choose dairy are you choosing organic dairy? Why?

Humans are the only mammals that continue to consume milk into adulthood. Everything else utilizes it for babies that need the growth spurt.

Dairy is a primary source of FAT and CHOLESTEROL. Do you read your labels in this category? do you choose wisely?

Hi.... I absolutely love milk. When I mix protein drinks I use Soy milk...I love the extra vanilla....I eat cheese, cottage cheese, especially cottage cheese with sugar free jello mixed in.... I am almost 7 years out, but, I have enjoyed milk all along. I was a big milk drinker before surgery...Some days I admit it doesn't settle as good as others...

the sugars in milk mean nothing to me.    You need three servings of dairy a day to help you lose weight, that's what my nutritionist told me.   i do use it in my protein, i also eat cheese, cottage cheese, etc.    i just make sure to use skim.   and i still take calcium citrate.

Yes milk means sugar to me!

I am eating yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese and drinking milk at this point.  I will go back to getting the calcium from cheese in the future.  I am not taking Calcium supplements at this time  due to stomach issues, my pcp is following my numbers.
