Frozen Hot Cocoa Protein Shake

Now, don't yell at me if you add up the nutritional info. and it's not what you want.  I didn't even do a nutritional analysis on it.  This just gets me through on those days when I  know I need my protein and I want something sweet, too.  I would use this in the beginning post op days when calories aren't that big of an issue.  The point is, you get your protein serving and it's yummy!

Melt 1.5 oz. of sugar free chocolate chips in a double boiler, or bowl set over simmering water.  Add one scoop chocolate protein powder, two teaspoons Splenda, and one teaspoon sugar free hot cocoa mix.  Stir constantly until smooth and totally blended.  Slowly add 1/4 cup skim milk and stir until smooth.  Cool the mix to room temperature.

In a blender put in 1/4 cup skim milk and a little more than one cup ice.  Add cooled chocolate mixture.  Blend until smooth and about the consistancy of a daiquiri.  If you are feeling crazy add a dollop of sf cool whip once you have it in your glass.

This made a pretty big shake.  I didn't have a problem drinking it, but a newbie might want to adjust accordingly.

PS- I did rip this recipe off from the famous New York Serendipity frozzzen hot chocolate.  Just so you know!

Oh wow!  That sounds amazing!  I must share this with my friend Nikki (she hangs out on the RNY mostly).  she just concocted her own frozen hot chocolate protein shake a week or so ago and I've yet to try it.

Here's her version

Cleopatra_Nik's Frozen Hot Chocolate Protein Drink

1 packet diet swiss miss
8 oz. skim milk
4 oz. water
5 ice cubes
1 scoop whey (I used cookies 'n creme body fortress and--surprise, surprise--it is actually good in this!)
a glug of SF syrup

Whiz in a blender, serve in a pretty cup with some whipped cream on top.

My Recipe Index is packed full of yumminess!

That sounds really good too!  Hers is a little bit "better" than mine.  Maybe I'll use them both and find a happy medium!
Thanks for sharing!

Oh of course, I am out of chocolate protien powder.  I knew I should have stopped at GNC today.

I just did this yesterday and it was so good.

I used a mug for my magic bullet and put ice in about 1/2 full I then added water to just above the ice. I used 2 scoops of Nectar sweets chocolate truffle and a splash of Davinci's SF raspberry syrup. Blended until it sounded like the ice was all chopped like a slush. Oh my it was good. I ate it with a spoon to slow down the intake. I can't do milk, but you could probably substitute the water for milk.

Tastes like a chocolate raspberry truffle.
