Tuesday Morning Coffee

Good morning!  Had some coffee on the way to work, about 3 or so hours ago.  Eating some strawberries and blueberries right now.  When my class gets back from gym, we are heading to the Middle School for a visit with the 6th grade.  Fun Fun

Plateaus?  Yeah, I've hit them.  I don't worry about them too much.  Like others, my body seems to like it around this weight (well, my weight prior to getting pregnant).  I can lose weight, when I buckle down and REALLY watch everything I eat, but then as soon as I stop doing that and just eat "normal"(whatever that is), I put the 5 or 10 pounds back on that I lost and then I stay at that weight again.  So, I'm healthy.  I'm happy.  I don't know...I just try not to worry about it.  Would I like to lose another 40-50 pounds?  Sure.  Will it be the end of the world if I don't?  Absolutely not.

Enjoy the day! Tina

I love your take on the weight thing.. if you do then you do if you don't then you don't..

All of us would love to be 130 pounds or less right?

I just don't think my body likes it smaller than 150.. it prefers around 170. LOL

Have fun at the middle school.

Happy Last Day of March!

I haven't had anything this morning - my day off am I'm being lazy.  Will start some tea soon.

QOTD:  I have been on a plateau for about a year, for the first time in my life I have been able to maintain my weight.  I still have 30 lbs to loose and also started limiting my carbs and upping my exercise.  I have gotten away from walking with the cold Michigan weather and no treadmill so hoping getting outside will help move me in the right direction.
It also help getting back involved with the OH Board - all you guys are real motivators . . and I thank you.

Hi All,
Since I'm pre-op I can't answer the QOTD.  I'm drinking a chocolate protien drink right now and enjoying it.  My son gave me a serving of his protien (ON - optimum nutrition) and it's really good.  I'm going to try some others and see how they taste.  Getting myself ready for surgery (some day).  It's just too long of a process.  I WANT IT NOW!!!

It is what it is.

Hey Michigan,

Q:  I've always said that I would love to be 150 (I'm 5'7"), but if ended up at 180 I'd be ok with that, of course I'm stuck at 191 LOL, but I'm even ok w/ that.  I know I'll still loose some, I'm only 16 months out and I've been exercising and lifting weights allot lately.

I try to remember that I'm no longer diabetic, nor do I have hbp or gerd anymore and that's why I did this, especially the diabetes.  I feel better than I have in years.  All in all I'm glad I did this and as long as I don't gain I'll be happy with what I have achieved.

Hope you all have a great day,

Edie

 Hey,
I normally just lurk around these 'coffee' threads but thought the QOTD is right on with what I need:
I  currently am actually going the other way a little bit right now!!  Immediately after my TT I dropped about an additional 10 pounds or so -- well I've managed to put all that back on.  I'm really frustrated with that and for it's back to food journaling to see what's going on -- really see.
I am doing considerably more exercising so I don't know if that's partly to blame.  When I did the marathon back in October I actually so a couple of pound gain during my last building for it.  Right now I'm trying to get ready for a full summer of triathlons so I'm tending to do 2 sports a day and trying to do at least something everyday.  I'd like to be able to get back to that ultimate low weight, just need to figure out the magic line between losing weight and eating enough calories to sustain 3 hours of exercise a day.
FYI: I highly recommend for anybody doing biking for exercise to consider getting a pair of bike shorts.  I know most of you probably don't want to be going around in spandex but they do make mountain bike 'baggy' shorts with thick padding (chamois).  Another option is to wear a pair of liners under your shorts.  These shorts sure help the comfort factor!

Ummm.....did you say thick padding for comfort?  Uh, that will just make my arse look even bigger!!!  lol....can't have that.  Don't you know that a woman will walk all day in pair of shoes that kill her feet if they are hot shoes???  lol....

Oh hey, your ears should have been burning last Saturday....someone was asking about you!!!

Just stopped in to tell everyone good night  It has been one of those days.  I had a vet appointment up in Mayville at 8am.  Than a PCP appointment down in Goodrich at 11.  I've lost 2 whole pounds in 3 weeks.  I stopped at the pharmacy and than headed to the Hurlery Bariatric center for a 1:30 appointment.  I've lost 6 pounds in 5 week, their happy, I'm not.  Got home and had to go bak to Flint to pick up our trailer that they had been working on for over 2 months.

I didn't plan my meals  ahead like I had to date.  This means I didn't get around to eating until noon.  I did OK with steamed fish at Whitey's.  Picked up YAYA's chicken for dinner.  My big "bady" was having the pita bread(w/honey butter) and a REAL ice tea.

Deborah congrats on breaking your plateau.
