to cut or not to cut
Im having RNY next month, I wanted to know if anyone here cut their hair short before going in for surgery? I am thinking bc of the thiniing hair thing. I know my hair will thin bc it usually falls out with stress and being on these shakes it has already started. So if I cut my hair short will it look even more thin? or will keeping it shoulder length make it look thin. Also my hair is super wavy so I usually have it stacked in back and the front cut at an angle. But I am thinking a pixi. let me know your own experiences.
I love the wedge look! And its easy to care for too. I would say take off what you're comfortable with to start because you can always go shorter. I had my hair very short, kinda spikey on top for my first 6 months, then I grew it out. I didn't have any issues with hair loss though. You aren't guaranteed you will or you wont, its a wait and see thing.

My vote is to wait until after surgery. The surgery alone is tramautic enough without throwing in the shock of a short haircut. You can always wait to see how your hair thins, or not, and then take care of it when that happens. I got my hair cut before surgery and I wish I hadn't.
All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press
on to your destination.
on to your destination.
I know you posted a few days ago. I don't know if you already cut your hair. However, I would wait until about 3 weeks after surgery to do it. Most people get real depressed after surgery, because of the hormones going crazy, they also get a little stir crazy. So if you wait, it will feel like a make over. For me, I couldn't wait to feel normal again. It was a relief just to put my contacts back in.
