Hi Shannon..........i wish i didnt have to run to the bathroom the minute i need to have a bowel movement.  That is probably way TMI  but that is the hardest thing for me.  I read about others who have a prob with constipation.  I have never been constipated since the surgery--but i have really loose stools often turning to diarrhea.  I would not change that I had the surgery, but wish i could find a way to manage this.  If i am traveling or know that i will not have immediate access to the restroom--like planning for a meeting etc, then i take Imodium--but i just hate to take that daily.  If anyone has any suggestions--I am more than willing to try em!  But i am so happy that i had the RNY and wouldnt change it for the world----life is great..........wish i would have done it years earlier!

I know some DS'ers take a probiotic every day & have heard that, for some, it firms things up & makes you more "regular". Other things-are you taking iron & calcium citrate supplements? Both of those are known to cause firmer stools, & in some cases constipation. Wish I could help you out more but that's all I've got!

Good afternoon Shannon and everyone.
Did it thunder last night??? Certainly heard it rain. Going to start my pot of decaf soon. Had to be to church really early and did a Starbucks venti, decaf, skinny cinnamon dolce latte-very good.......

QOTD-I am always constipated (TMI) and I wish I could eat the healthier foods I love and not have them get stuck in the band. I absolutely love oranges and they notoriously get stuck even though I chew them well. Asparagus gets stuck unless it is mush and I like it crisp..... I wish the band could be a little less indiscriminate...

Just got home from the inlaws.  Was there for the weekend.  Had dinner with the family last night....homemade pizzas.  Very yummy.  Heard a little thunder last night, but fell fast asleep so it didn't keep me up.  Today, I'm ust doing some laundry and relaxing.  Thinking about taking a nap very soon.

QOTD - I don't think I'd change anything.  I'm pretty much at the point where I can eat just about any type of food I want, without much issue.  Quantity is still limited but not so much that I can't enjoy what I eat.  I haven't lost everything I want to lose but I'm happy where I am, at this point.  I'll get back to focusing on losing weight again, after the baby comes.  I lost 130 pounds, initially.  I still would like to lose 50-80 pounds...but that's in an IDEAL world!  Realistically, I could see losing another 20-50 and being quite happy.  Tina

Welcome aboard, jump in and ask questions.  You will get honest supportive answers.

I read you blog, do yourself a favor and split your weight loss into smaller goals, maybe 10 pounds at a time,  You will do fine.

Best of luck and keep posting.

Pam

I read your blog...your an interesting man, who obviously loves his kids and wife, or you would have never mentioned them.  The only thing I can say about the cost your about to endure is that your probably spend that in food, drink and over priced larger clothes.

I had the surgery (RNY) 16 months ago and have lost 112 lbs, I'd still like to loose another 30-50 lbs. but if I don't, I'm ok with that really...191 beats the hell out of 302 (I'm 5'7").   My hubby just had the surg 3 weeks ago (RNY), he's doing good.  His goal is to be told he can zip line, bungee jump, and go in a helicopter ride without having to pay for 2 tickets... (he's 6'6").  He's doing well, since his 2 week pre op induction he's lost 33+ lbs!

Stick to it, you'll get thorough, it's tough, but definitely worth it.

Good luck,

Edie
