Good morning!

I'm having my usual fake latte (decaf again) and looking forward to an early lunch being brought in to the office today by a local soul food restaurant.  Doubt it'll be healthy, but I'm sure it'll be delicious.  :-)

QOTD -- training for the half marathon last summer/fall was a big challenge for me and one I'm proud of accomplishing.  my challenge this year is to find a challenge equally as daunting and achieve it.   I can't do the same half marathon race this year... but I'm considering others in the fall that will challenge me just as much.  Still scheduling...

My Recipe Index is packed full of yumminess!

Wow - It's ironic that you mentioned the 5K, Edie.  I've been looking for some in my area, too.  I found one that's going to be held at Mt. Elliott cemetery in Detroit.  Is that weird or what??  Cemeteries are my thing, so I think I will do it.

QOTD:  I've logged approximately 35 miles in getting ready for the Breast Cancer 3-Day this August.  I'm really pumped about it!  I'm more worried about raising the $2,300 than doing the actual walking but I may change my tune once it gets closer.

Have a wonderful day . . .

Elaine

Here is a good source for run/walks in any area.  You can define by state, city etc.

www.runningintheusa.com/AdvancedSearch.asp

Also check to see if your local running club has a website.  Bay City does, and they have alot of nonprofit run/walks listed with phone or email contacts.

One of the walks I am doing this summer is for a local kid who was in a bad car accident this past winter.  It is to help cover medical costs for the family.

Hope it helps

Just checking in.  I didn't sleep at all last night due to left shoulder pain.  I was still awake while most of you were getting up.  I was up with the grandson at 8 so, I went back to bed at 10 after he left and sleep till 2.  When I woke the sun was shinning so I went outside to keep me off the computer.  Walked awhile and helped the DH medicate animals.

QOTD-Two more weeks before I'm of limitation.  Than I won't have any more excuses.  My goal than will be longer walks and every other day on the elliptical.  I was planing on doing the elliptical every day until I was told on here it is better to "shake it up"
