exercise evaluation Henry Ford- help!!
Hi all.. i am finally in the final stages of getting my date-- yahoo!! I have my final consult with Genaw on 4/3, but my exercise consult isn't until 4/23. They (Wanda) said I could go to curves where I was a member and have them do it for me- but I'm not sure what they need. Does anyone out there have a copy of what their trainer or gym have them? This way, I could have something to show them... thanks for any help you can offer...

In your blue binder is a sheet that says what they need to give you. It's the "Exercise Program Assessment Criteria" They need in the report six things.
1. The results of a fitness test tailored to your abilities
2. An exercise program based on your fitness level
3. Does pt understand the role of exercise in weight loss before and after surgery.
4. Does pt have the ability to perform the exercise program
5. What is the likelihood of pt following prescribed program
6. Was pt. provided with/demonstrated the use of an exercise log.
You can just have them write something up for you. I got copies of the program that Fitness USA made up for me as far as the program and as far as my current fitness assessment. They have alot more machines and weightsthan curves and a lot of different exercises.

went downtown to the athletic building.. where the orientation was with wanda.. she asked me a few questions- gave me a couple of handouts asked me if i had any questions..and that was it!! she actually had a hard time keeping her eyes open the whole time..lol
just glad it's over.. i called wanda today to ask when the are booking now and she said mid june..:( ggrrr.. it's hard to wait when you've already waited one full year!!!.. when is yours scheduled?

I go see Dr. Genaw on 4-22 @ 9 am. I just called to see if I could get in sooner, but he's full, then on vacation for a week. She said they don't keep track of his cancellations, so I can keep calling back. I guess he only does these clinic appt.s on Wednesday, at least she made it sound that way.
Sounds like you really had an extensive exercise eval. Did she give you exercises or a program to follow? I'm still sore from my three workouts. That's good tho, because it proves I need the exercise. When do you get to see the surgeon?

i saw dr genaw for the first time on 2/11.. he told me to lose 15#, I go back for my re-evaluation on 4/3 at 9am.. everything else I have already done, so I am just waiting.. and working on losing my last 6 pounds.. I talked to wanda today and she said they are booking surgery dates right now in mid june...:( i want it now!!!!!! but, i have waited this long, so i can wait a bit longer... what evals have you had done?

I've gotten everything done except meeting Dr. Genaw. Shoot, that means I probably won't get to have surgery until July. He gave you almost two months to lose 15#, that seems like a pretty long time. I'm hoping they won't make me wait that long. I can lose 15# in two weeks. I did it my first two weeks of weigh****chers, then I fell apart. I'd just be very very strict for two weeks. I'm tired of waiting...

I had the psych eval in January or Feb. I haven't seen the bariatrician yet, I think I see her the same day I meet with Dr. Genaw. Did you? Is a bariatrician the same as the nutritionist (Nut) ? Boy, I'm depressed now thinking it'll be another three months before surgery. You made my evening! 
By the way, I have HAP HMO too. I retired from GM.
