Looking forward to purred foods
The egg drop soup is not like it is in the Chinese restaurants. It's really like scrambled (but VERY fluffy) eggs in chicken broth. I still eat it occasionally, great for a warm, high protein, salty meal!
As for your taste changing, I've heard from others that theirs did. Mine really did not. I just prefer salty snacks to sweet ones now, that's really the only difference for me.

Bev,
Way to go on waiting for the OK. Whatever you decide will be some of the best tasting food you'll ever have, lol.
Personally, yogurt I enjoy Dannon's Light & Fit, I had lots of tuna fish. I tried a number of different things, always thinking 'that sounds delicious' only to discover it to be quite the opposite! Don't be afraid to start really plain/simple as your taste buds are going to act very different from what you are used to.
Good luck and enjoy the sweet taste of the puree food in a couple of days!

Can't tell you why but they do. I think part of it is that we stop eating the unhealthy foods for long enough that our body loses the tolerance for sweet/artificial stuff. I can't imagine what a regular pop or piece of candy would taste like anymore -- probably sickening sweet. Pre-op didn't think about it, the sweeter the better!
The weirdest thing for me is I used to love chicken before surgery but I can't really take it any more. I don't know if it's the dryness of the meat or what but I have a real tough time eating most chicken. Other than chicken there isn't any natural food I am turned away by/from, but if there's processed meal/food I find that I really don't like it. Being 20 months post-op I do have to be cautious since I really don't dump and I can eat almost normal.
