Hi Michigan!
come on folks, it's not that early - and I'm the first one to post??  :)

I'm home today, waiting for the water softener people to come and fix our system - the entire house is orange from the rust in the water - yuck!  But, it means I get a day at home!  Going to take Wrigley (my pekingese) to get his spring haircut too - whew!  he's a disaster!.  Looks like he's put on about 60lbs with all of his undercoat poofing him out  :)

So - since I'm contemplating all the things that are now or are soon likely to also go wrong in the house, here are some questions for you...

1) how often do you change your furnace filters?
2) how long has your current/last refrigerator lasted before needing to be replaced?
3) for those with septic systems, how often do you have them cleaned out?
4) what's the one item in your house that you do absolutely no maintenance on, but should?

enjoy your day!

Hi Lara and everyone!
You must be the first one this morning to post. Decided to do a very early workout this morning at the gym and just got back. Just starting the coffee maker for a cup of hot decaf...
Cute dog, your Pekingese............
Questions-we change our filter every two months. We've had our refrigerator since 2002. Our last frig lasted 15 years. No septic system :-). I can't think of anything we don't do maintenance on....
Have a good Monday everyone!!!!!

My answers to the QOTD are the same as your's except the refrig.  We've had ours for 25 years now and it's still going strong.  The 2 cupboard doors are driving me crazy, but I don't know how to adjust them and can't get hubby to do it.  Our septic tank is at our place up north and since we're not there full time we probably have to do it about every 8 years.
It is what it is.
If He brings you to it, He'll bring you through it...

Morning Lara and everyone else!  It's a slow starting Monday for me.  Kid #2 is now sick with that yucky cold going around.  Luckily he's old enough to stay home without me so I didn't miss another day of work.

I am really bad about household stuff.  My DH is too, which isn't a good thing.  Isn't one spouse supposed to be the handy-person?  Anyway, we don't have a forced air furnace.  Maybe we don't use filters?  I'm not sure about that.  Our frige was in the house when I bought it 3 years ago.  It's an old one, but hanging on.  So the answer to #4 is...........EVERYTHING.  I really should do more, but it seems like I don't have time for all of that.  I'm lucky if I get some dusting and wiping the bathroom done every few days.

Have a good day!

Morning

I am just getting ready to make my muffin and head out the door for the start of the week. It is going to be a crazy week working full time 6 days straight.. Oh the joy right? But I am anxious because I am going to use some of the money to go get a pedicure! YIPPEE

1. We change ours every month.. we have forced air and I am allergic to dust.
2. We bought this refrigerator new when we bought our house 3 years ago.
3. I do not have a septic THANK GOD
4. I need to remember to clean the tops of the washer and dryer more often...

Have a great day everyone!

P.S. Laura... you should google furminator.. they are the best investment for hairy dogs. They have a coupon on their website and I have one for my cats.. BEST THING!

Ooh - that looks great!  We have 3 cats that this would be perfect for!  Our pekingese though, doesn't shed (thank god!).  He just gets bigger and bigger as his undercoat grows - it's like watching a chia pet grow!   The groomer is great with hime - cuts him down pretty close and looks like he was on a crash diet!    :)

I got the Furminator at Petco with our 10% off coupon.  They also sell them at Meijer and sometimes have them on sale for 15% off.
We use it on our Lab in between groomings.  Oh my gosh!  Just brushing her outside for 10 minutes gives me a pile of hair up to my ankles!  (And we get her washed & clipped about every 5 weeks).  It's worth the money if your critters will sit still for it.

Maybe do a search for it on the internet and you might be able to find one.. I know last year they had one and I got my cat furminator with that.. It is well worth the investment though.
