Hello Everyone!

Hi there, just wanted to pop in and say hello to you all. I had gastric bypass in March of 2007 (I think I put 2006 on my profile- which is under construction) I just passed the 2 year mark and all has seemed to go well. I am a totally different person than who I was at 396 pounds. I am at 251 as of today and I am struggling to lose my last 60pounds. That was my goal that I set with myself to get to 180. I am pushing it I feel sometimes I can eat as much as I want and whatever I want. Although, I do think I am eating  more than I should, I will justify it by knowing I am eating far more less than I did before surgery. I need a kick in the pants, maybe some encouragement, I seem to do well when I know others are depending on me. I walk some what, I am working on getting my gym membership back up, I play softball through the summer and the fall and I would like to enter a few races this spring and summer. I am having issues with talking about it and not following through. *sigh* so anyways, I thought I would join up here make new connections and get moving!! I am so excited for spring and summer. I have a new boyfriend (at least I think I do, we can get into that later! lol) he is active, rides his bike everywhere, hikes, ski's I want to do it to! So that's where I start! Glad to be here! Hi Christine!

Nice to met you.  Yep you put '06 on your profile! 150 pounds lost is nothing to sneeze at.

I just started my journy 2/25/09 so I'm not the one how needs to give you a talking to.

This is a great place to come to when struggling for support.  There are really great people here.  Do you have a support group in Lansing.  I got to some here in Flint and really need them, and I like the people too.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

You should find a lot of support here.  Good advise too.  I'm also just starting my journey and even seeing your progress gives me hope.  People say I'm a lite weight because my BMI is under 40, but I've got a lot of co-morbidities to deal with.  You're young and will have a long time to enjoy your weight loss.  Hopefully you and your new boyfriend will get out riding those bikes and hiking.  What a good thing to do to build a relationship.  Good Luck.
It is what it is.
If He brings you to it, He'll bring you through it...

Pk I don't know if we are always all that encouraging all the time here, but I usually try to be. You have done great so far. All I can say is if I were a younger guy I would be asking for your phone number about now, especially after seeing your photos in your profile. I know it's not all about how we look and we did this for health reasons but you have to admit it feels great to look better.

Welcome! Congrats! Good Work! Kick in the pants, nah..sounds like you are doing that yourself...You know you can do it...You just have to keep trying..never give up, there is always someone here that will help you get up, dust yourself off and give you a push....Never lose sight on what YOU want and YOU can not lose...YOU will make it....I still struggle and I am almost 7 years out, but, it is an easier struggle than before, I feel wonderful! I am one of the lucky ones, I have had very very little in the way of problems. Other than a hernia repair a cpl of months after my surgery and dealing with hypoglycemia...I am very very thankful and would do it over again in a heartbeat...I started out at 240, lost to 118 and I felt I was way too skinny, did you hear that, too skinny...WOW..so I did gain back about 50 pounds, and I am happy where I am at between 158 and 168..my body seems happy there too... SO keep up the good work, you will succeed....

Hi, Christine.  I am not much for kicking in the pants, but have been know to lead a cheer or two.  You have done phenomenally.  I am working on my last 45 pounds and know how you feel, but i have confidence I will get there.  And if I don't-life at this size is soooo much better than it was at a size 24.   Keep on keeping on-you are already a success.
