Morning Everyone!!

Just eating my toast... no muffin today. I have to go shopping.. And drinking my usual tea.

No work at the schools today. I guess no one called in sick or I am so far down the sub list it just did not get to me today. So here I am at home in this dreary weather. I am going to try to get the house straightened and do some laundry.

I am going to do my best to get to the gym this afternoon too. I am hoping either before lunch or after that way I can be back in time to help my DH with the trim in the bedroom.

The time change has not affected me that I know of. I could'nt sleep last night but that is a normal thing sometimes. So I am tired today. I do like the longer days but in the morning it can be depressing heading out to work in the dark.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!  I think everyone's coffe posts/morning threads have been JUST FINE!!!  I had my usual black Starbucks Breakfast blend, mixed with water.  I've been drinking water since then.

I think the "spring forward" affects me more than the "fall back"...that's for sure.  But I've been totally exhausted for a while now, so I guess I didn't really notice a huge change.  I don't mind the dark in the AM.  Would much rather have it lighter later, after I get home from work.  I have little dogs and they are fine to hang out on their tie outs for a while, if the weather is warm, dry and sunny.  LIKE ME!  Otherwise, they want to be snuggled up warm and cozy in bed or on the couch.

I'll be glad when things dry up a bit!

Enjoy the day!  Tina

Morning all,

Had my normal morning coffee, and working on some herb tea.

QOTD - I am also having problems getting to sleep at night.  Everyone else was in bed by 9 ish last night, and I was up until almost midnight.  I don't like the dark in the morning, but I know it will soon pass, the rain didn't help this morning.

Busy day, my boss is on vacation and I am getting dumped on.

Hi All,

I'm trying to have my normal tea this morning but I left my splenda at home so it's not so good.

QOD ~ Yes, daylight savings time has affected me along with so many other things. I'm so physically drained this week but I am back to work so maybe that's it.

Does anyone have any suggestions other that rest that I could do to get back in the swing of things here at work? My first day back was yesterday and I tell you..................I wanted to go to my car for a nap. Is this normal?

How long were you off of work?
I took a week off and the day I went back (to my desk job) I almost passed out from being so tired.  I actually had to go home and sleep for a while.

It took me a good month or so after my lap RNY to be back to 100%.  It's hard with this kind of surgery because you look "normal", but you are still healing inside.  Add to that the nutrient loss and your body is just going a little haywire right now.  Get wha****er and protein you can and rest as often as you can and pretty soon you'll feel back to your old self.  If you don't, then call your doc....they may want to draw blood and check some things out.

I'M  drinking my peach water this am.   I try to drink some of my protein necter but ha vent been successful yet.     I hate this soggy part of spring.   our back yard is a quagmire.   I'm sure you've all tried to let kids play outside and keep them dry in this kind of weather!!
QOTD   The time change doesn't affect me.   I only sleep about 5 hrs a night on good nights so  still get that in  and I do like the light later in the evening.  Of course I have to admit  not getting up to go work in the dark makes it easier,  though  I'd love to find a job to go to.

Hi everyone!

I had to leave the house early for my 2 week check up.  I ate a carbmaster yogurt on the way.

I got the OK for soft foods today.  I was so geeked as I didn't think I would get them until Thursday.  I stopped at Wal-mart to look for Greek Yogurt and picked up some string cheese for my first REAL snack

QOD-I'm retired so not to much.  What IS getting me is the gloomy, wet weather.  I caught the crud that is going around and can't shake it.  Now  what I need on top of trying to heal.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Hey Brenda,

I was off for 4 weeks and now I'm just exhausted. I'm going to try to get some more protein in. I took a nap on lunch today but really wanted to go home and crawl in the bed. On top of all of that.....I feel like I'm coming down with a cold. I've had a runny nose all day. What can I take? Any suggestions?

When anyone in my house is starting to get sick I start doing Zycam right away.  It is a bit expensive, but it seems to make the cold go away in just about 2 days.
Here's what I suggest, most of it you're probably doing already:
*Track your water.  Being dehydrated can make you feel like you got hit by a truck.  I ended up in the ER 3 weeks post op because I wasn't drinking enough.

*If you like hot drinks, get some no sugar added hot cocoa mix (I use Swiss Miss diet) and add a scoop of protein powder to it.  Snuggle up before bed and drink some to relax you.

*Make sure you're taking your B-12 supplement.  Those can help give you a little energy.

*If possible, go to bed early consistantly.  For me, it doesn't work to just take a nap here or there.  I have to go to bed early for about a week before I feel normal again.

*If you need to take an OTC cold medicine, make sure it's Tylenol based

Now, here's some news that will cheer you up:
Pretty soon, you'll be on a routine of exercising and eating really, really well.  Your body's natural defenses will build up, and you just might not get colds as much as you used to.  <> I used to get horrible colds all the time.  Since surgery I think I have had one cold and one stomach bug and that's it.

I don't want to make assumptions at all....but for me, a few months after surgery I could finally fit comfortably in my bathtub.  When I'm feeling exhausted, I soak in bath with Johnson & Johnson's cold relief baby bath.  It clears your sinuses and relaxes you.  So if that's not something you can do now, maybe it will be soon.

I hope you feel better!!

Evening everyone,

Since it's 5PM, I won't go into what is in my cup today...your welcome LOL.

Q:  Yea, it's effecting me.  Last night I couldn't fall asleep until after midnight.... bummer.  And, I slept in until 8:45 (I've been home taking care of hubby) and tomm.  I've got to get up @ 6:30 to hit the elliptical.  I think I'm going to take a Melatonin tonight to help me adjust through this.  But I LOVE the fact that it's light out later and I can go to the park after work (when it dries up).

Hope everyone has a great night.

Edie
