Frustration & Impatience

Ok maybe I am impatient, but I am trying to get this done ASAP and my doctors know this.

Thursday I got the call from the HBC insurance coordinator who told me I was definitely approved for my VSG. She also told me that I would get a call on Friday to schedule my surgery.

Well Friday came and went without a call. I called Saturday and left a message for the person who handles the surgery scheduling because I don't want to miss the call and that our phone number was changing on Monday, so I left the new phone number.

By late afternoon on Monday still no call so I called to get an update, and was told that she needed to get updated from her manager since I am getting the sleeve and all. She also told me her manager would be in meetings most of the day and that she would call and update me as soon as she knew anything.

Now I don't want to be annoying, but I dislike every day that goes by that I do not have an appointment for anything. Whether it be the surgery or the pre-op tests or consultation. So I am in this limbo now and I HATE it.

According to my insurance, it runs out on Saturday which is why I want a set date before then because I need to know how many weeks of COBRA I need to pay to the surgery will be covered. (Post-op care will be handled through a different insurance because it'll be cheaper than COBRA but individual insurances do not cover bariatric surgery - FYI)

Now tomorrow I am supposed to take the kids to a homeschooling bowling party for part of the day, but part of me wants to call them again to see how things are progressing.

I want to "be on them" about this without being overly annoying. So how long would you wait? Should I call tomorrow if I don't hear form them before 3p/4p? Should I just wait until Wednesday? Am I just being too obsessive?! LOL

How can I keep from getting too obsessive and pushy?! ::WAH::

I am convinced that as soon as I hung up the phone my doctor's office forgot all about me.  I would keep calling regularly especially given your insurance cir****tances.  This is definitely a case where you need to be a squeaky wheel.

I think with your insurance situation, I would def keep calling them. I also think the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Stay on them.
