Good morning Brenda!

Yesterday's outdoor walk was refreshing and energizing.  It's still cold ... but I'm looking forward to being outside more often even if I freeze my butt off.

Enjoying my morning fake latte and doing my meal planning for the day. Got too many meetings today and my to-do list seems to be growing by the minute.

Have a great day!
Pam

Hey Pam!
Good for you for sticking to it!  Question:  Do you still walk outside when it's raining?  That's when I like going out the best.  My dog loves to run through puddles.  I just grab my umbrella and my slicker and go!

PS-I loved your boss on the news last night regarding Cobo!

Yep.  Rain or shine.  Here's a crazy pic I took of myself after a wet day of training last spring ...

(PS -- UhOh... what'd he say now?  I haven't checked my Google Alerts yet this morning, so I'm off to see what's up.  Since I live in Saginaw I don't get to see the Detroit news channels and have to read about it the next day -- so much for working in the media department, huh?)

Hey all,

I agree w/ Brenda on the english muffins...I miss bread allot.  I eat pretzels like crazy now, no where near what I could do w/ bread or pretzels pre op though.  I think it's the salt on the pretzels that I crave more than it's the white fix.

Pam, good job sticking with your walk yesterday.  It was a bit to nippy for me.  I'm still indoors on the elliptical for a while.   I am sooooo thrilled that this weekend is daylight savings.  I can actually hit my park after work now (well as long as it's over 40!)!!!!  I've missed going so much.  I'll have to meet you one day after work and try your park.

Have a great day all,

Edie

I had decafe with half&half.  I got to have my first "real" food today.  I had some really runny instant oatmeal.    Tasted like heaven and for lunch I got 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, that was the BEST thing in the world.  (At least in the world I've been living in for the last month.)

I even made it out side to walk to the mailbox yesterday.  Man I hate the cold.  I'm still not allowed on
the elliptical!

Good Afternoon All,

I just got home from a three hour orientation at MichiganWorks!.  I got the best news ever.  According to the trade act, I am a displaced worker and I qualify for $24k towards college or training.  The normal amount through no-worker-left-behind is $5k.  I am on info overload right now.  I can do just about any 2-yr program out there at just about any college I want to attend.  University of Florida Gatorz, here I come!!    woohoo! partay!!!

My furry buddy is doing well.  He was licking his stitches yesterday, but he stopped when I corrected him.  I called on getting a cone, but they wanted a $25 for it.  So, I did my best to watch him til I fell right asleep.  Suzanne, you were right.  He seems very grateful to be back at home and has been on his best behavior.

I eat at least one slice or one type of bread per day, sometimes more.  I was on a cheez it kick, but that has subsided.  Carbs raise my blood sugar, so I do need to be cautious, even if I can tolerate them pouch-wise.

Thoughts become things... choose the good ones!

I am glad that he seems to be doing well. If the stitches become irritated you can put a little bit of dry corn starch on them. Did they tell you to keep it dry in the rain too? He might be buttering you up and waiting to feel better then he is going to let you have it!!

You can get a cone at the pet store for MUCH cheaper than that. If he likes car rides just take him with you and make sure he can't get to the stitches. Make sure it goes out past his muzzle. I know they sell them at Petco on 12 Mile and Dequindre.

That is great news about the college assistance. I am glad they are trying to help people here. I have a friend in CA that he husband has been laid off for weeks and they have not received any payment and cannot get through to the unemployment agency. I feel so bad for them.
