Just another manic Monday.....
Good Morning! No coffee here, jus****er.
I'm back to work at my regular schedule, but taking it easy.
I had a nice, boring weekend.
For those of you that have had a TT....if the doc took off 20 lbs. of skin and stuff, and I'm not swollen, how come I weigh exactly what I did the morning of surgery? Knowing me, I probably gained 20 lbs. since surgery because I haven't been able to exercise. LOL
What's everyone up to today? What'd you have for breakfast? I had oatmeal, and brought grapes and yogurt for my morning snack.
Hope you have a great day!

Judy , I had that problem in the morning also , I started eating within the first hour after I awake and I do not have it anymore. This is due to swelling from water around the band from laying down at night. Hope this works out for you. Some people use a heating pad to help warm it up too

Judy,
I'm just curious if you're happy with the lapband surgery. My friend had Dr. Gaszyearli do her surgery in Nov, '07. She's not real happy with it. Although she's lost 100 pounds and has probably 80 more to go, she finds getting the fills to be a pain. She lives in mid michigan and drives down to Troy, then waits another 2 hours to get in to have the fill. She finds that when she wants to get a 3cc fill (or whatever) they only want to do 1.5 She doesn't think the 1.5 is enough and she finds she can eat almost anything she wants, and does. After hearing her complain I've decided to go for RNY. It's nice to have a Michigan Forum to join.

Dr. Gazayerli is a great surgeon, but the followup leaves a lot to be desired. There is no support group, no nutritionist, and the waits can take forever as you said. I think his office is best for folks who don't need a lot of structure cope with the band. I feel badly saying this because I really respect him as a surgeon.
I now make appointments with his tech and she fills me without seeing him. I can get three 3 CC fills from her between visits to him. It took me a long time to get restriction this way.
I would still recommend the band, but have to agree that it isn't as quick and efficient as RNY.
