Have any of you ever had this SINCE your surgery?  I had my surgery 10/28/08 and that night and since that day my back hurts like you have NO idea! I mean I am drinking tylenol 3 and taking tramadol for the pain, every 2 hours I am taking something for the pain.

I have an MRI on Tuesday, but is there a chance that this is surgery related? I mean my back hurt before surgery but NEVER EVER like this.  I can't sit normally, I can't stand for a length of time, I can't sleep hardly, its horrible!!!

My sister thinks something may have happened during surgery, a nick into a nerve or something, but I am wondering if anyone has had this happen?

Thanks for your input!

Have they check for either kidney stones or an obstruction?  I had an obstruction after my gall bladder removal.  I was still "going" but had a area that was full and pressing on nerves.   I was the same way.  Unable to sleep, sit  or laydown comfortably.

It actually felt like someone had stitched something together when he removed my gall bladder.  It was actually from the anastetic and pain meds slowed things down and built up.

Wish you the best.

Pam

PS - your weight loss looks great.

I have it, weak abdomninal muscles.  The extra skin on my trunk doesn't help either.

I feel for you Christina.  Lower back pain is the story of my life.  Pain meds don't even help me.  They just make me feel loopy.  I think mine is a nerve that gets pinched and it affects my lower back and down both the back of my legs - it is paralyzing.  Hope you figure it out soon.  Carey

Hey Christina..

Right after surgery for a few months, my back hurt that bad too...

i asked my Excercise Physiologist when it was at its worse (Lortab/Vicodine wouldnt touch it) and he told me that it was due to all my weight loss, that the fat that used to support my back muscles/spine is no longer there... and therefore they need to catch up with my new body.

Hope everything is ok!!

Keep us updated!!
