I plan thing 6 months in advance. we have the campsites at that time. Are you ready for the Summer? We are....

The Q for the day...............  Name something that bugs you to this day about the surgery and what you think should be Done?

For me ... All the tests , You would think that all of them are not needed. and that they do some just for the extra money. That what I think

Have a great day... Try to get outside it going to be a nice day today !!!

Good Morning Randandy,

I had a great night's sleep!!!  I was finally able to sleep through the entire night.  I have been getting up around 2am, so it was very nice.  I am SOOOO ready for summer.  I look out at our pool and think how nice it will be to hang out in it EVERYDAY ALL DAY LONG, this summer.  But last year, even with the pool heater, I just got soo cold in there.  Bone chilling cold in the middle of July.  Which brings me to the Bugs me part of the surgery.  I hate being cold all the time and I think doctors should put in a device that makes your blood boil when your core reaches 98.2 degrees.

But on a serious note, I think more time needs to be spent on the mental aspect of the surgery and the affect that sudden weight loss has on the mind.  I think that patients should be required to see a counselor once a month post-op for one year regardless of whether they think they need it.  We can prepare before hand, but nothing can prepare you for the mental and physiological changes that are to come afterward.

I am hoping to get outside with my Boxer today.  He is 8 months old and a ball of pent up energy.

Good morning all.   Nothing in my cup yet...will probably get some water going as the day goes on.

I'm ready for warmer weather, but not ready to see my yard.  DH is kind of slow when it comes to doing outside stuff, and we have a LOT that needs to be done.  We're going to have to use our vacation to get through spring break since we won't have a sitter, so we aren't making any travel plans over the summer.

QOTD: I wish I would have been able to understand that there was a chance of me feeling like I do now.  I might not have had the surgery in the first place.  I guess you really can't fully get it unless you live it, so I don't know what can be done to make people understand.  Just saying all the catch phrases like "it's a tool" and all of that doesn't quite paint a clear picture.

Have a good day everyone!

Hello Everyone!
I slept really well, thanks. I'm waiting for my old standby to brew-decaf and black..
I'm so ready for summer. The DH and I are trying to plan some sort of getaway when it warms up. I love the snow for fun things, but I'm getting tired of the cold and driving......It's hard to walk the dogs with the slippery roads.
QOD-I'm with boxermom about dealing more with the emotional issues of eating. I always say that "fat thinking" is the hardest to loose. I go to support groups religiously and think that it is the key to succeeding as well as a good diet and exercise.

I am having my morning Sunrise Crystal Lite. Morning everyone. How is everyone doing. Randy I have no bugs to complain about with my RNY. Yes there are things that are different in life now, but so many are for the better and all the others I was prepared for and knew about before my decision to have my RNY. The Beaumont Weight Loss Center does a wonderful job of providing pre-surgery and Post-surgery support. It even includes a workout program in their own gym. All the medical support and even psych support is under one roof so I have it easy. I was so blessed to have this new life I just can't stop wanting to share my with others in hopes of helping them attain my success. I am just shy of a year out and already I have to work at staying on track, but I don't see me having near the struggles staying in line with keeping weight off as I did all those years before my surgery.

Are you ready for summer?  Is this a rhetorical question?   I KNOW FOR ME, IT IS!! I'm ready for summer about two weeks after fall begins.  I really don't see myself living in MI for the rest of my life.  I don't have to live where it's tropical or anything, but I NEED MORE SUN AND WARMTH!  Summer here, is just too short!   I keep looking at my pool and deck and it just looks so desolate covered in snow and ice.  Even my cat seemed to be pining for the pool as she sat at the edge of the pool, staring out over the ice....probably cuz a mouse just ran across it or something, but hey, I could feel her pain!! LOL!

Something that bugs me about the surgery.....hmmmmmmm...there are a few, I suppose.  I guess the most annoying thing is the day to day wondering if something I ate yesterday is going to be ok today.  I don't have that too much now, at almost 4 years out, but it does still happen on occasion.

As far as all the pre-testing, well, I was kinda paranoid at first when my surgeon didn't recommend, for me, all the tests I was hearing other people had to take.  I thought maybe he wasn't as thorough as other surgeons, but I found out that wasn't the case.  But he really does look at things on a case by case basis and I didn't have the issues that some others had to warrant further testing.  So, I guess it's a good thing, because I want my surgeon TOTALLY prepared for any potential situation.

I already went outside this morning....had to get to my car.  I plan on going outside one more time....to go home.  That's about it.  Too cold.  I'll go outside and DO SOMETHING when I don't have to wear a turtleneck under a long sleeve shirt, a fleece jacket and my winter coat!!

Enjoy the day!  Tina
