Not funny....but kind of ....
Ok, so today I went to my nutrition class at Hurley. We were each given a canvas bag with a binder of information and our surgical soap we need to use before our surgery.
I got to meet Ruth (nice to meet you Ruth!!) who is part of Pam's Bay City support group.
Now comes the not so funny part.....I left and was all excited..... thinking 'oh, i'm so excited my day is almost here'......got about 15 miles down I-75 and realized I had left the BAG sitting on the floor at Hurley. Dang it....I had to turn around and go back to get it. Oh well, at least I didn't get ALL the way home first and then notice I had left it there.
Hope you all had a good day ! :-)

Hi Nan!
That sounds like something I'd do.
I was scheduled to have my surgery on the 9th. They had a cancellation on 2/25 and called and asked if I want it. I had my nut class on 2/5 and got my "goodies" bag than.
I had my pre-admission appointment yesterday and there were people there having there surgery 3/6 to 3/12 too.

LOL! It sounds like something I'd do too! Did you get your huggy bear too? That thing is SO important when you're in the hospital and driving home. Don't forget to bring it with you.
A tip for making all the paperwork easier. Type up a list of all your medications. The name, dose, frequency, prescribing doctor and why you take it.... make a bunch of copies and take 'em with you to the pre-admission testing appointment and your day of surgery and keep a copy when you're in the hospital. Thay way you don't have to write it all out everytime they ask you for it. Or maybe I'm just lazy or something. LOL!
Your big day is going to be here so fast! I remember the nutrition class being the turning point for me.... the surgery went from just something I was fighting for to something that was actually going to happen.
Feel free to call or email if you have any questions or just need to vent or ask a million questions.
Talk to you soon!

Thanks Pam! Huggy Bear.....no we didn't get one. I'll have to bring one from home :-) Tina said she got a pillow! Hmmmn....we got a canvas bag .
Thank goodness for me I don't take any medications...none....well, maybe Excederin when I get headaches. So when I did my PAT last week, that was kind of the joke.....I had no meds.....the guy before me came in with a duffle bag full of meds. I guess I feel lucky.
So, I've read it a million times on OH, but I guess the things that are a necesity to the hospital is a robe, slippers, chapstics, toiletries??, comfy clothes to wear home, a pillow for the ride home....anything else you can think of. oh, my cell phone...... I've heard of people bringing reading material, but most say they don't feel like reading, etc....I want to take as little as possible.
