Thursday Morning Coffee !!!
Yep... even now at 15 months out I still have bad tummy days and good tummy days. Last night for dinner I just couldn't eat my meatloaf and edamema.... ended up throwing it out and making a protein drink instead. The pouch just didn't want food. So yes, it's completely normal and it really doesn't ever go away (but bad tummy days get fewer and farther between the longer you're post-op).As for fiber. Even though you're early out, you really DO need to worry about fiber. Get a bottle of FiberSure and add it to your water or protein shakes. It's tasteless and mixed in smooth... but oh does it ever make a difference. Early out from surgery I survived on Milk of Magnesia, now I wish I'd learned the fiber lesson much earlier in my journey.

We are waiting for the carpet installers to get here. They should be here around 9. We got everything but the ceiling painted in the baby's room last night. Whew....it was a lot of work. There was more spackling to do than we anticipated. But it's all good, now.
I try to get lots of fiber in each day. I don't keep track of it, but I eat lots of veggies (salads, mostly). It helps sometimes. I had to start iron supplements last September and well, that doesn't bode well for regularity. Also, drinking plenty of water is one of the best things you can do to keep yourself "regular". At least it is for me! I still have to resort to Metamucil/stool softeners occasionally. Since having WLS, though, I'm not nearly as regular as I used to be.
Weekend plans....FINISH BABY DUB's ROOM! We are putting together furniture, painting the ceiling, and installing a new light fixture. Tomorrow, a friend and I are going shopping. I hope to find the "perfect" rocker/glider/recliner for Dub's room, too. I also need to find some matching material to make curtains. I hope to have this all done by Spring Break in April, so that I can JUST RELAX! LOL!
Enjoy the day! Tina

Did the usual this morning. Protein Hot Chai Tea and now a fake latte.
QOTD -- I track fiber just as religiously as I track my protein and water intake. When I do my morning meal planning if I'm short on fiber for the day, I either find some food to boost the number or make sure I get a serving of FiberSure. The FiberOne granola bars give me 10g... so if I'm way short, I'll add one of those to the day. I shoot for 25-30g per day.

I have a hard time with fruits and vegetables and with breads, so that eliminates a lot of fiber choices. Luckily I don't get constipated, but I am on a new kick. A bottle of V-8 juice is three servings of vegetables and 3 grams of fiber, so except for the sodium it is a fairly decent substitute for fresh fruits and veggies. So I am trying to do at least one bottle a day, along with nuts and whole grains as tolerated. Not nearly enough I know.
I've been doing V8 juice daily, as well. I LOVE V8, but I kinda go in spurts as far as drinking it. My hubby loves it as well, so we've both been *trying* to drink it daily. I usually drink mine for an afternoon snack. It has been helping.

Judy, With the band it is a good choice to add a chewable fiber supplement... It help me big time!!! Since we don't eat a lot of Regular Fiber Choice's
Good morning all,
Its been a rough morning. My son has had the flu for 2 days, and I think I am getting it. Two sips of coffee and it came back up. Was able to get some peppermint tea in and then some oatmeal. I am working on some Protien Chia Tea and we will go from there.
Fiber - I add suppliments everyday. Going to try fibersure. Benefiber works wonders for my son who has always had issues.
Hubby has a long weekend, we are going to so see the reptile exhibit at the Center for the Arts in Midland. I want to run to Birch run to the Nike store to get some walking/running clothes for my 5k in March. Currently I do all my walking inside, and I am afraid of getting cold.
I went and had a stride analysis done and got a new pair of walking/running shoes on Monday, I went to Runners in Bay City - they also have a store in Saginaw. Oh my god does it make a difference. If you have never had it done, treat yourself, get a good pair of fitted shoes. Your body will thank you.
