Most of you here seem to be post-op.  Is there a forum for the newbie pre-ops?  I would love to chat, but most here I cannot relate to because you all have been there already.  It seems the pre-ops are pretty quiet??

Have you checked out the boards for the kind of surgery your having?  LOT's there.

I say post away.  You'll get various responses from various people.  Like you said many of us who are active on the boards have gone through surgery but don't forget we were all in your position not that long ago!!!  I found this a great resource site for me as I was trying to decide about surgery and then the frustration of being approved/scheduled/etc.  So don't hesitate to post your questions, frustrations, and brags.  I'm sure you'll inspire other pre-ops to become more active in the process.
Good luck!

Cheryl,
All of us who are post op were once pre op and went through most of the struggles and trials that everyone  goes through. We are here to try and make it easier for the newbies, and for each other.

I am pre-op. I have my Psych eval on Saturday and another PCP appointment on March 5th. I believe once the psych eval is done I will be on the fast track for approval and I'll be waiting for the denial or approval and then a surgery date.

Since I am on a time table a bit I am very anxious to get a date and have things secured. I was even more relieved for the stimulus package to go through because my COBRA payments should drop significantly (around 65%) which means I may be able to afford more weeks of health insurance. YEAH!!!

I hang out more on the VSG board than here though.

Hi Sephia!  I was woundering how you were doing and if you got insurance.  Last I heard you were dropping the whole thing for a while good to see you back on track.

I agree with the others.... don't go away.  Pre-Ops have a million questions, and who better to ask than those of us who have been exactly where you are now.  We understand the nerves and the doubts and the need for information and we're all here to help you get through it.  Then when you are post-op, you can pay it forward by helping out the newbies who come behind you.

Don't be shy.  Ask anything!
