How do I know if covered by insurance?
Where do I start the process?  Lap-Band Surgeon?  Plastics Surgeon? PCP??
Any suggestions for a Plastics Surgeon in Michigan?
Should you be at goal weight before considering a TT?

I would call the 800 number on the back of your insurance card and ask a Rep that question.  They will probably read you verbatim the clause on surgery after WLS.  [OR you can make an appt with a p.s. and his staff will check into the coverage for you.]  If it is covered, then I would make a plan to attend a 'free seminar' of one of the p.s on this board.  I know sayeg, dinick and hing do seminars.  That way you could also meet one-on-one with a surgeon.  As far as being at goal weight?  I was NOT at goal weight.  and its been six months and i am still not there.  BUT, i couldn't stand the hanging skin any longer.  My surgeon was cool and agreed it would be fine to go ahead with the surgery.  A good surgeon will advise you whether or not to wait.

Call your insurance company and they can tell you.  I had Blue Cross and they did not pay stating it was cosmetic.  Some BC's will pay, mine didn't so I paid.  Try to  be near your goal weight.

Poisson.  She'll set you up and take excellent care of you :)

Also, there is a plastic surgeon website on the oh.com board where you can look him up and read other's comments about him.

Artist, sculptor and just an outstanding plastic surgeon!  Dont delay, sometimes the wait may be long BUT he is WORTH it!!!!!!!!!
