Sunday Morning Coffee Anyone !!!
Pam, here is the bike that I got last summer (after checking out more than 20) -- and I LOVE it!!! I rarely use my car when the roads don't have snow on them. Almost every place I go on a daily basis is within 4 miles of my house.
My bicycle is a Raleigh Detour. It has 8 speeds, but I only use 3 of them. I didn't want that many speeds, but I wanted the other options the bike had, especially the shock absorber kind of suspension in the front. Shifting is easy & smooth, the seat is really comfortable, and the handle bars are a good size. I was looking for a bike that my weight would sit on my ass, and not hunched over the handle bars with a lot of weight on my arms / wrists / hands. This is a city bike, so not the big chunky mountain bike tires (but I can easily ride trails), and not the skinny racing tires. I had a high end mountain bike, and hated it. Too heavy and really had to lean way over the handle bars.
My favorite accessory is the basket. It snaps on & off so easy, and is the perfect shopping basket for the farmers market. It has a handle, so it is so easy to carry around.

Highest Known Weight = 370# / 59.7 bmi @ 5'6"
Current Weight = 168# / 26.4 bmi : fluctuates 5# either way @ 5'7" / more than 90% EWL
Normal BMI (24.9) = 159#: would have to compromise my muscle mass to get here without plastics, so this is not a goal.

I've been chugging down crystal light orange all day. I've had the fireplace going and I'm under two blankets, so no warm protein drink needed yet.
I eat all day. I rarely eat a meal. Actually, I think I only eat a meal when I go out to a restaurant! Since I can't fit much in, I never finish a whole meal though. I like a lot of variety, so if I cook a meal, I would have leftovers for too long, and would be sick of whatever it was after eating it twice, and that is just a waste. So, I tend to snack more. Maybe 6-8-10 times a day.
Most of the day has already passed... but, I basically just read, napped, put together a schedule for the week of errands, and made lots of (DS) healthy goodies to get me through the week. If I don't have quick protein snacks to reach for, I reach for the easy carbs. It is always good for me to take stock of what is in the fridge and pantry, too, so I have it in my head what is available for the week.
