GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!

Yes, its Friday.  And its valentines day at the school.  I am taking treats to my daughter's kindergarten class today.  I am drinking flat diet rootbeer to kick start my day.

Qotd:  I get about 5 hours of good sleep per night.  And since I've been laid off, I am more restless now.  So its hard to stay asleep.

weekend plans:  One of my friends gave me a great idea for dinner on SAT.  Its going to be an all RED valentines dinner.  I am making spaghetti, and strawberry koolaid, tom/mozz salad, and for dessert, tina's famous strawberry pretzel dessert.  If you have anymore red food ideas that kids would love, let me know.  I bet Pam E. has some great ideas!!! she rocks.

How about a Jello cake made with Reduced sugar cake mix and diet lemon lime soda,  sugar free strawberry jello topped with cool whip and some red sprinkles.   The kids in my family love jello cakes.  (if you want pink cool whip, use add some of the sugar free jello to the cool whip and put it back in the frig for a while - red food color works too, but the jello adds more flavor.)

I took cupcakes in for my sons class.  White cake with red sprinkles mixed in, pink frosting and red and white heart sprinkles.

Hope it helps

Pam

That's a cute idea to make an all red dinner.  I've already talked to my younger daughter on the phone from work and she is dying to give my my V-Day present.  lol....she's so cute.

I make the jello pretzel salad too - never made it SF though - might have to look into that.

Hope your dinner turns out good.

Morning everyone!!

I am off today since my Mom is coming down for the day.. I have to take 3 of the 4 cats to the vet today for some routine stuff and of course my problem child is missing fur on one of his paws. Then come back home to get ready for shopping with Mom!!!

I sleep usually about 7-8 hours a night. If I get less I am usually grumpy. Before surgery I could get away with 4-5 hours and not have trouble. I do have issues falling asleep though. I started taking melatonin and so far that has helped me relax when I go to sleep.

Tomorrow I have to work in the morning and then I have some surprise dinner that DH has planned. I think I have figured out where we are going but I am not sure. It will be fun. Other than that I think we are going to start painting on Sunday in one of our bedrooms.

Boxer Mom: Can you share the strawberry pretzel dessert? It sounds yummy!!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!

I make this all the time.  Used to make it before sugar and now I substitute splenda for the sugar.  My family can't tell.  It's just so good.  Wwth the pretzel crust, it has that sweet and salty thing going on.  YUMMO!  Just make sure you let the jello set up enough, but not too much.  Too runny, and it will just soak down into the pretzels.  Too much, and well, you can soak the bowl in some ho****er for a few minutes to loosen the jello back up.  Tina
