Restaurants in Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor help please =)

Hello from Ontario!

I will be going down to Ypsilanti Barix Clinic on Feb 26th for my consult.  I'm bringing my aunt with me and I'd like to be able to find a restaurant that is comfortable ie: no arms on chairs, no benches, roomy and easy to get to/out of.  Unfortunately I've never been to the states and I'm unfamiliar with the restaurant chains there and how accomodating they are for the morbidly obese.  And I tend to avoid restaurants up here because very few are comfortable.

Any information would be very appreciated.  We are staying at the Days Inn about 10mins from the Barix Clinic.

Thank you =)

I'm not sure which Days Inn in Ypsi you will be staying at, but if it's on Carpenter Rd., then there are several restaurants on Carpenter that you can try.  Red Robin is on Carpenter.  They have tables with chairs and they have booths.  In the same area, is Applebee's.  I believe they have tables with chairs, too.  There is also a Red Lobster on Carpenter.  Of course, there are all the fast food chains, as well, on Carpenter or in the near vicinity.  Tina

Hello for Ann Arbor,

Tina (sometimes she is smart, hehe)  has named some good places here.  I think that the Red Lobster is accross the street from your hotel as well as LaShish.   All of those places are located on Carpenter rd, if you make a left hand turn from the hotel.  If you make a right out of the hotel you can go to Washtenaw and there are some other options there as well.  If you make a left onto Washtenaw, there is a Chili's, if you make a right onto Washtenaw there is a Chinese buffet, a good mexican place (Tios) and the BEST Thai (Tuptim) that I have ever had and a number of fast food places.  Most (if not all) have tables.

If I think of anything else, i will let you know.  If you have any other questions feel free to let me know

Good Luck on the 26th

Rob

Thank you both for the suggestions, I'll definitely check those out =)  I'm a sucker for Pad Thai so I may have to expose my aunt to some yummy Thai cuisine!!
