March is off-season so you should be able to get a good rate at any of them. I find the Holiday Inn Express priced too high for what it offers (My opinion).
There are the Courtyard and Fairfield Inn over by Sams Club - depends on where you want to stay. The others are on US-31. Cherry Tree, and the Beaches are on the water side, Days Inn and Comfort Inn are on the south side of the road.
There are more of course, but that should get you started.

Another place you could check with for your stay at the time of your surgery would be The Hospitality House at Munson Medical Center. It is absolutely beautiful and is right on the grounds at the hospital. You can get info on that by calling the main switchboard at Munson (231-935-5000) and asking for the Hospitality House. Another thing to do is check with the hotels and see if they offer a discount when you stay due to surgery etc...
Good Luck in March! Who are you seeing at Grand Traverse Surgery? Dr. Slikkers was my surgeon almost 4 years ago - but all of their surgeons are good. I work with them in the OR now.

I have heard about the Hospitality House and it does sound great but hubby and are really hoping to get a hotel but will keep it in mind. Also, thanks for reminding me about asking for hospital rates I totally forgot about it.
I'm calling Angie tomorrow to set up my consult, not sure who I am getting in with but hoping Dr. Slikkers, I have heard so many good things about him from numberious people.
Congratulations on your 4 years of success.
Again thank you for you input.

There are several that have kitchenettes and designed for more of a long term stay.
Traverse Bay Inn - 2300 US 31 N, 800-968-2646. 231-938-2646. [email protected]
They advertise longer-stay suites. They accept pets for $15 more a night. Very reasonable. Since you don't know when your surgery will be, that will make a big difference. The closer you get to summer the higher they go. For March a 1 bedroom suite is $41 a night - check out their website. Not sure if they have weekly rates but they might.
Days Inn and Suites - they have kitchens and suites
AmericInn Suites - I believe they do too.
If you need more info, feel free to contact me. I live about 1 mile from there.

I have been up to Munson before to see someone for an emergency and the hospital provided us with a hotel name for a inexpensive night's stay.
