Afternoon all,

I haven't been to a support group in almost a year.  My local one (through my wl dr.) is for post op's only but there are usually only 3-6 people (same people most of the time) and the psyc.  In my opinion hearing "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" and "that's stinking, thinking" doesn't really help much.

I get so much more info. from my yahoo groups and you guys on OH.

I wish I could find a local group that helped.  I heard about a group in Warren that meets the last Sat. of the month, I think I'm going to try that, has anyone tried that one???

I am replying late. I did not get on the computer before work this morning. I am just sitting here catching up on my shows and watching Biggest Loser from this week. I am drinking my usual tea and just had dinner. 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, two pieces of beef steakettes with provolone cheese, mushrooms and onions.. no bread tonight. I am trying to cut back on the carbs.

I attended my last support group meeting in November. They did not have one in December because of the holiday. I was suppose to go in January but got caught up in stuff at home and missed out on going. I do communicate with bariatric friends online daily which helps me.

I find being this far out that it is much easier to just get together with people that I know that have had surgery and talk either one on one or get together. We can talk about problems we are having or things that arise. I think that support groups are good for someone that is 2 years out or less.  I am 4 years out and only occasionally I get someting out of the groups. But it makes me feel good to go. It makes me feel accountable.

This weekend I have a scrapbook crop tomorrow night, work on Saturday morning, and then Sunday I am resting. We are going to be doing some painting in the house so I would like to go to Lowes or Home Depot and pick out some paint colors to see if we can agree on it.

Have a great weekend everyone.
