You may be able to roll it over to an individual policy. I cant remember the official term - but is similar to the idea of COBRA. You would have to pay the full premium to keep it going.

I have done that with a previous employer for both my husband and myself and for $50,000 on myself and $25,000 on my husband I pay about $12 a month. this is just one of the policies we have.

Morning Everyone..

Just sitting here watching Good Morning America and drinking my orange dream protein shake. Trying to get energy... Been really tired lately. I know my iron is low and I had to start supplements for that but there are some other things going on too. I am heading to a different Dr today to get a second opinion... Hopefully she can give me some answers. I usually do not have a female Dr but I am willing to try.

I am not tryed to get life insurance since surgery. My DH has a policy on me through his employer and other than that times are tough and it is hard to afford another policy no matter how small. I am hoping someday that will change.. Right now I have to focus on health issues.

I hope your travels are smooth for the memorial service Randy.

Brenda.... I know it makes a difference with vitamins huh? LOL What multi vitamin do you use?

Good morning, everyone!  Had my usual watered down black, Starbucks this morning, although I rarely drink a full cup, anymore.  But it does taste so very good.  I don't think I can drink full strength anymore!

Brenda's in charge?  YAY!  LOL!

I have not tried to get life insurance.  I've had it through my employer for 8 years, and it hasn't changed since surgery.  As far as medical insurance, we have that through my husband's employer.  I waive my insurance and take an "in lieu of" payment from my employer not to take our insurance.  IF (and that's a big if) nothing happens with my husband's job or pension (he's salaried through Ford), we'll have insurance when he retires.  But frankly, we are not planning on that happening.  If it does, GREAT!  But we are preparing for the day we have to provide our own medical insurance.

I think that as WLS becomes more common and accepted practice, the insurance companies will follow suit.  I have had no problems what so ever with insurance of any type since surgery.  That includes switching from one company to another about a 1 and a 1/2 ago.

Enjoy the day!  Tina

Morning all,

No coffee this morning.  Something upset my tummy, and I am sipping peppermint tea to try and sooth it abit.

Randy, you will be missed the next couple of days, and our thoughts are with you and Deb.

QFTD - I have had the same life insurance policy since my late 20's.  I also have policies through work that expire at end of employement.  They are more for lost income that anything else for my hubby and son.

I am drinking a hot cup of Click with SF peppermint syrup...mmmmmm

I have had life insurance through my work for the past 10 years, can't see anything changing. You would think we would be a better risk post op without all our co morbidities. But what do I know, I don't do insurance....

Good Tuesday to all! Safe travels, Randy!
