Anyone had Dr. Kralovich @ Hurley?

Hi everyone...
My surgery is a little over a month away at Hurley.  I have nothing but good things to say about Hurley so far, and have met my surgeon on two different occasions. 

I was just wondering if anyone else had Kurt Kralovich as their surgeon??  I see a lot of people have Faharn (sp) from Hurley. 

I agree with a poster from a few days ago....Pam T has been very helpful and I love reading her blog...so much information!!!!  Thanks Pam.

I'm so happy you've got your date and you're on your way!  Hope you can make it to the meeting next monday... we'll all celebrate with you!

I've heard good things about Dr. Kralovich, but haven't actually met him personally.  I know that the Hurley doctors work as a team.. so not sure who he operates with, but know that you'll have to well experienced doctors in surgery with you.

I haven't made it to that yet.

I live in Midland so it's about an hour drive for me.  I would have loved to have gone tonight but I have something else going on tonight that I can't make it.  I will definitely be going to the support groups though. 

Maybe Pam can tell us.....are they monthly @ Hurley????  This is the first I had heard about them.  I guess I can check Hurley's website....I'm sure they'll have a calendar or something. 

When is your surgery date??  Do you have Dr. Kralovich?

When I went for the phych eval I was told about them and in his oppinion we felt they are a must.

Would the one in Vassar be closer to you?  It is next Monday.  They are a smaller group but, are great people.

I got my surgery date-3/16.  I could have had the same date as you but, I have to babysit the grand baby that week.  I still would like to change it.  Than maybe we could share a room

There's two monthly support group meetings in Flint. 

First Monday of Month --- the official Hurley meeting.  This is more formal and they usually schedule a special speaker.  It's always the 1st monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. ... held at the clinic.  There's usually 30 to 50 people at these meetings.  Even if you do'nt have your surgery at Hurley, you're still welcome to attend.

Third Monday of Month --- this is the informal meeting of FABS (Flint Area Bariatric Support). Lots more fun and very laid back.  No formal speaker and we just go around the room and everyone has a chance to ask questions, talk about victories or struggles.  This meeting is held the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at Hurley Health and Fitness Center (corner of Sagianw and Hemphill) in the classroom down the hall. 

I almost always attend both meetings... but since I work in Waterford and get out of work at 5pm, I'm always late to these meetings.  So I'm easy to spot since I walk in late. 

I'm HOPING to attend tonight's meeting.  But I may have to work late -- got a huge event happening at work tomorrow but I'm hoping everything is done early so I can get out of here on time.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Thanks for the info Pam!! I will definitely be attending them in the future. Can't tonight, but maybe the one on 16th.  I'll mark my calendar for that one.
