TGIF Coffee Everyone !!!! + Five for Friday??
Morning to all - It's been a busy week with minimal access to a computer and no computer at home. So I'm taking advantage of it at the moment.
Q of the day - People assume that WLS is easy. We all know that's not true, that we have to work with our tool and make major changes daily and for the long haul.
Drinking my strawberry protein drink. I've never acquired the taste for cofffee.
5 for friday:
1. Purple
2. Microwave, blender, silverware
3. Evening
4. No overtime. 5. Not sure of weekend plans.
Have a good weekend and stay warm!
Hope everyone has a good day.
1. what color shirt are you wearing today? Right now I have on brown but not sure since I need to get in the shower.
2. Name three thing in your kitchen you use daily? my jug with my tea, my sink, and usually my toaster. LOL
3. Shower in the morning or evening? I like both but mostly in the morning.
4. Did you work overtime this week? Nope not this week but I do work two jobs.
5. What are your plans for the Weekend? I have to help DH take down our shower doors, and I plan on doing some scrapbooking. I have to work tomorrow morning.
I don't brag about surgery being easy, (I can't seem to get rid of the underlining from RANDY because I copied and pasted.....grrr) but I would have to honestly say that surgery, FOR ME, was easy. Like many of you, I had lost significant amounts of weight before WLS, on my own, only to gain it all back a year or so later. It was not easy.
After I had surgery, I lost 100 pounds in 4 months, basically without thinking about it. So, yeah, that was pretty easy, RELATIVE TO MY EXPERIENCE!! I did not go into this surgery thinking that I was taking the easy way out. I went into this surgery relatively healthy at the weight I was (I know that's an oxymoron). I did not have any co-morbidities. I was 35 and knew it wouldn't stay that way if I didn't do something. I almost felt like I was giving up on myself, because from my experiences I could NOT successfully maintain any weight loss ON MY OWN. I needed the extra help. That's why I turned to the surgery.
1. what color shirt are you wearing today?
PINK (wearing pink and white converse, too!)
2. Name three things in your kitchen you use daily?
Dishwasher, coffee maker and water cooler
3. Shower in the morning or evening?
morning
4. Did you work overtime this week?
OT...what's that?
5. What are your plans for the Weekend?
working on baby's room and sleeping...

What underlining thing is that?
It not on the post is it?
Oh that underlining thing bets me
Just showed up this AM
Morning all,
Just got to work and going to take a few minutes for myself. Got a cup of coffee brewing and then it is back to water. I have stepped up my water consumption, cause I have been bad. Putting myself back on a schedule has helped alot.
QOTD - I have a co worker that thought my surgery looked easy. She opted for lap band, and had it on 8/26/08. She lost 16 pounds on her pre op diet, and lost about 10 after surgery. With the holidays, she put 13 on (in one weekend arg!), she since has told me that surgery was a waste of time and money. It has done nothing for her. I urged her to see her doc, but she said at her last visit she said something about her lack of weight loss, and she said that the doc was not concerned because she hadn't gained anything. She skipped her last appt for a fill, which she probably needed badly. It is not easy, your temptations are still there. Its not a magic pill. Ok, I will move on.
Five for Friday:
1 - tan sweater and cream tank
2 - coffee pot, blender and microwave
3 - Morning
4 - I worked overtime, but don't get paid for it - some days I hate being salary.
5 - plans for the weekend are up in the air right now. My 5 year old woke me up at 5 this morning looking for a "bucket" to puke in. Guess he has the flu, 101 temp with a head ache and body aches. If he is feeling better, he earned a reward and wants to go to Chuckie Cheese. If not, we will stay home, cuddle and watch tv.
Have a great one.
Pam
We write our own destiny. We become what we do.
I'm drinking my fake latte (4oz Vanilla Steamer w/ 16oz Vanilla Creme coffee). It's going to be a slow day here at work -- both bosses are out and my task list is short.
QOTD --- I don't get the "easy way out" comments so much as I get the "what are you obsessing about the surgery" comments instead. People think that once you have surgery you no longer have to think about or worry about food or dieting or your health... like, you did it, it's done, now move on. What they don't understand is that this is a life-long thing and I'm even more obsessed about my health now than I ever was pre-op.
Five for Friday

Pink (and red and orange and brown and white) stripes
