Tummy Tuck 11 days Postop OUCH
Dude...the recovery of this is so darn slow. I guess I'm due right? All 3 kids no epidural or pain meds and my last one even being close to 11 lbs...then the gastric bypass which I sprang back from almost immediately with no issues.
But THIS ???????????? ?????
This is kicking my ass. I can still barely walk without incredible pain in one area and I'm going insane not being able to leave the house. Nothing is "wrong" according to the docs...just a process. I don't regret it one tiny bit but I hope this coming week is easier on me. I just started being able to breathe normally as my abs were tightened so the first 10 days I could only do short shallow breaths.
Like I said...I guess I"m due for it eh?
Diane, feeling worse now than the day of surgery by far!

You are only 11 days post op. Usually the first week is the hardest. I myself started to feel better little by little each week. And that is what I see with most of our patients. But everyone is different. You can't compare yourself to other people. I've had patients come in and are suprised that it's not so bad. That they thought it would be worse. So just take it easy. Does your surgeon have you wearing a compression garment?
Good luck to you.

Yes, I can understand the no sympathy thing too. LOL
I am delighted with my new belly and I knew about the pain going it too right?
Thanks for writing!

Hi Diane,
Each patient is different in how fast they recover, their pain tolerance, and how they handle the whole TT process mentally. I can truly sympathize with you about the pain and the tightness. I came to rely on my compression binder to sort of "hold it all together" so I could move around easier. The worst area of pain I had was on both sides in the groin area. It felt like that skin was pulled so tight, it would just tear apart. Then I had a terrible "pulling apart" sensation in my mid-section muscle wall that hurt so bad I thought I was really coming undone inside. This went on for weeks it seemed. It was over 2 months before I could lay on my side comfortably.
I'm glad you are feeling better and soon it will feel as if the surgery never happened. Did you get a new belly button? I don't have one any more. LOL.
