Well, tomorrow is one month since my VSG with Dr Hawasli and I have lost 60 lbs!!!!!   The man is a god in my book, and I do not give praise like that easily.   I had mine at St. John main on Moross and I could not have been more impressed with the staff.  I know hospitals and what to expect, I am a firefighter/ paramedic and an ER medic, and St John Main more than met my every expectation.

I was in the hospital overnight and was home by noon the day after.  I was on he couch for a couple of days but hardly even used the 2 week supply of liquid pain meds given to me,  maybe 3 doses.

The biggest suprise is the lack of actual hunger.  I am never hungry and absoultely stuffed after 4 tablespoons of soup.  AMAZING!!!!

If you have any questions or fears, please do not hesitate to email me.  We can buddy up and I can gie you more info.

Talk to you soon and good luck.

Frank

It is so nice to finally get a post from someone who is going to have the same doctor as me.  My VSG is scheduled for 2/3/09 @ St.. Johns too.  I am starting my 2 week pre-op diet today.  So glad to hear that everything went smooth for you.  I am getting so nervous, now that it is so close.  I know that this is the best thing for me.  Thanks again.

Hi!  I got my sleeve almost 10 months ago.  I have been at goal for 2 months and have found that maintaining has been realitively easy.  If I follow the rules all is good in the neighborhood.  Get my protein in first, drink my water and move.  Best thing I have ever done for myself!
Good luck !

Hi,

I had my sleeve operation done on December 22, 2009.  I have not had any issues.  My surgery was done by Dr. Kole at St. John's in Madison Heights.  They were going to release me the next day, but I asked to stay due to extreme nausea.  When I came home, I spent a few days resting on the couch.  My surgery was laproscopic, so the scars are minimal.  I can have a few spoons of food and I am full.  Getting your fluids in is very important. My sleeve has done wonders for me.

Best of luck to you,
Carrie
