Food Journal - What do you use
One of my goals for the new year is to get back to journaling my food.
I have used Fitday.com, Sparkpeople.com, dailyplate.com and currently using myfitnesspal.com.
Just wondering if someone had something they would like to share, even if is your own system.
I used to have a journal that I put in my planner everyday and carried with me. I think it was my most successful.
I like fitday.com because it gives you all your nutritionals. Sparkpeople has a great recipe builder. My fitness pal, I like the forums.
Any help would be appreicated.

We write our own destiny. We become what we do.
** Clean Data. I like that the foods in the database are monitored by the site builders and not entered by other users. I tend not to trust other people to read labels, not enter typos or do math correctly. Sparkpeople, DailyPlate and sites that use a comglomerate of foods ... just scare me a little bit.
** DietFacts Database. I like that the DietFacts database of brand name foods and restaurent menu items is connected to FitDay and I can instantly add foods from their website as a custom food into my food log.
** Custom Foods. I like that I can add my own foods easily and find them quickly in the Custom Food list. I also like that I can add those foods into a recipe. (I just go to a blank day (tomorrow) and add all the individual ingredients to the log then divide by the number of servings.)
** Recent Foods. since the site update I LOVE the Recent Foods Log so much! That's how I enter about 98% of my foods every day ... just go to the Recent Food View and click off all the foods I ate that day (or plan to eat) and add them all at once. So fast!
** Custom Nutrition Tracker. I am trying to increase my sodium intake (per the doc) so I've added sodium as a nutrient I'm keeping special track of. I can just flip over to the Custom Nutrition Tracking and see where I am for the day. I also track fiber and protein in that screen.
Can you tell I love Fitday? :-)
My Recipe Index is packed full of yumminess!
