Remember you are what you eat
For the question.... I get angry when I shop. EVERYTHING has sugar or HFCS in it. Canned tomatoes, the ones we USED to buy have HFCS in it... so we have to look at every single label. We go to Kroger and they have a good selection of stuff, but its just irritating that the companies do this.... but that is just me....
have a good day

An Angel in the book of life wrote down my baby's birth, then whispered as she closed the book "Too Beautiful For Earth" -- Love you sweet boy...

As far as the grocery stores.... I hate shopping now. not only do I not find the proper products to help me change my ways, I also run into way too many temptations. Being that I am one that con tolerate everything, I find myself weak and often cheating. The most healthy foods are not found in the neighborhood stores, I have to drive 30 miles first. I hate it.

Last night . . .
. . the minority in the Senate blocked us from having a vote on the bridge loans for the automotive industry. Unfortunately, a small group of Senators was able to short-circuit the bipartisan compromise agreement we had worked out with the White House and Congressional leaders.
Last night, before the vote, I spoke out on the floor of the Senate about what this failure to act will mean to Michigan and our nation. You can read my statement and watch the video on my website at stabenow.senate.gov.
This morning, I spoke with officials in the Bush Administration to urge them to act. They have always had the power to provide the automakers with money under the terms of the $700 billion that Congress provided. Now is the time to use a small part of this money to help American manufacturers and protect nearly 3 million jobs.
As I said last night, somebody has to build things in this country. We cannot all push paper around on Wall Street. I'm extremely disappointed that my colleagues have refused to help our manufacturers, but I am hopeful that the White House will step in and not allow these companies to fail on their watch. As we continue this effort, I will fight every day to protect our manufacturing sector and our Michigan jobs.
As always, if ever I can be of assistance to you or your family, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Debbie Stabenow
United States Senator
In my cup this am (hours earlier) was some coffee I received from my Mom up in Alpena at that Hubbark lake coffee roasters- it's called Organic Peruvian Blend and I just love it. It's light, floral, chocolate (delicately) and a nice flavor all around.
I shop often at our local Co-Op here and try to get as many fresh things as possible, now that I'm a member I can save a few extra bucks. Mostly I get rice in bulk and bread, as well as Almond Butter - now my absolute favorite food for sandwiches.
Otherwise, I may grab a dozen eggs but I try to get them down in Grass Lake. I can't say what I like most about shopping, probably not doing it all!!!! Lately I try to avoid our Wal mart here because it's jam packed with people Christmas shopping and I just don't even want to go to that part of town. So I hit Meijer more often.
The one thing always in my house is tons of coffee, half and half, protein and popsicles and soups and crackers and cheese. And containers in my freezer of varieties of things I've made and saved for later eating.
Wishing everyone a great weekend!
