So Its not a Stricture

I had my scope done and there was no stricture, instead it is an ulcer.  SO, I am taking  2 meds now, prilosec in the am and zantac at night.  Same meds and all that I was taking before the surgery...

Its better than a stricture and he did say the scope slide through easily which is a bonus, but the ulcer is just something I will have to deal with.... Before the surgery I had a horrible time with the acid content in my tummy....

Anyhow, that is the update on me :)

Glad to hear it wasnt a stricture. Hopefully the meds work for the ulcer!

Take care of yourself and follow the dr's orders.  Hopefully it will clear up fast.

I was diagnosed with a ulcer 2 months ago, I woke up one morning throwing up and pooping blood.  I had no symptoms until that morning and the doctors couldn't believe that. I was admitted to ICU for 5 days and got 4 units of blood it was that bad.  On 3 meds, Prontix, Carfate and Zantac.  Is it RYN related?  some docs say yes and some say no.

That is horrible! I am so sorry that happened to you.  In my case it probably isn't RNY related because I had horrible reflux before the surgery and was prone to getting small ulcers but this was a suprise to me because I was taking the meds I was told to take, but at least we caught it early...

Its always a good thing to listen to your own body...

So how are you doing now?   I haven't talked to you in some time?  I had a stricture at 6 weeks.  It was so frustrating!  I had to 'get rid' of everything solid that I ate!  But I had the EGD and now everything is great.

I am doing good now, I am so sorry that I haven't talked to you in a while... Its been a rough month, first the ulcer, then a car accident, and now we are all dealing with the snow...

ANyhow... how you been?  I hope that things are going good...  :)
