My frined wants gastric sleeve

My co-worker/friend wants to have the gastric sleeve done. Can anyone that has had the procedure recommend a surgeon and tell us more about the process? We would really appreciate it.

I know that Kelly or user name "kellyhilde" had VSG but she is over on the west side.  She is very happy though.  If your friend is okay with a drive he may be worth taking a look at. 

There is also a surgeon out of my practice that performs VSG.  His name is Dr. Hares and from what I have heard he is a very good doctor.  I went to St. John's Weight Loss in Madison Heights and had my surgery at that hospital right next to the office.

Dr. kemmeter and Dr. Foote (both in Grand Rapids) perform the VSG. My surgeon was Dr. Foote and I woudl recommend him in a heartbeat!

I know there may be someone in the Detroit area, but I am not sure of the name. Perhaps you can post on the VSG board and ask for that surgeon's name or any other recommendations. The people on the VSG board are very helpful.

Like Kelly, I had Dr. Foote for my sleeve, and I too would recommend him to anyone.  The entire program at Grand Health Partners is amazing, comprehensive, and very supportive.  Yes, it is on the west side of the state, but I would look into it.

You might check out Dr. Pleatman, just outside of Detroit. 

Especially if you're self pay and looking to save money, he's doing the VSG for $11,700, including everything.

I had mine with him and was very pleased. I would recommend him for any laparoscopic abdominal surgery that he does. He's somewhat easygoing and easy to talk with.
