Help....Gum
Ok, don't yell at me. I know this was stupid. I was walking around Meijer and not paying attention and I swallowed my gum. So I immediately have a panic attack. I got home and had a little to eat and everything stayed down.
Can I assume that everything is ok as long as I can eat? Any insight you might have on this would be helpful.....I really will feel like an idiot if I have to go get scoped for something like this.

I am not a doctor, and I haven't played doctor since somewhere around third grade. That said, you should be fine. You don't have a history of strictures or an erroded esophagus (where is my spellchecker when I need it?), do you? Can you swallow someting that hasn't been chewed to death without it getting stuck? This long past surgery, you're probably fine.
I'd use it as an excuse to have something greasy to eas the passage, though. Like maybe a patty melt?
Happy Thanksgiving!

So just to update anyone that was wondering........
Not much happened after the gum incident. I ate and drank and kept everything down. A few hours after it happened I had a really sharp pain in my "pouch area". I started to freak out and by the time I stood up, it was gone. Nothing has happened since. So I suppose I'm gonna make it after all!
