Hello,

Sorry for the late post but.... as some of you know my DH has been very ill for quite some time and needed a liver transplant.  Drs. told us last month that he had "maybe"45 days or so left in this life without a transplant.  Talk about stress and pressure!  I thought at times I would lose my mind.

I am happy to report he did get a liver transplant on November 12th at the U of MI and is doing great!  He did have some complications, that required an additional surgery but is now home and is like a new person.  We are so thankful to the person's family that donated the organ at such a tragic time for their family.  Please remember them in your prayers and thoughts.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers as well.  It has made all the difference in the world to us.

Hi Shannon,

His surgeons were Dr. Welling and Dr. Peletier.  Also, a Dr. Patel and a Dr. Height (sp.) were involved as well.  They were wonderful!  All the staff there is very committed and compassionate and do their jobs extremely well

We feel very blessed to have had so many dedicated persons involved in Steve's care.  We head back on Monday for the second of his many Clinic visits.  There is a snow storm predicted so we may arrive early and stay at a hotel on Sunday evening just to be sure we get there in time.  The plan is that Steve may get his staples out at that appointment and we certainly don't want to miss that!  LOL

What an awesome place you worked at.  It would be great if you were still there so we could get together for a coffee.  Thanks for you interest and prayers and good thoughts.

Pam, I am so happy for you right now I have tears.  My grandparents passed away from liver cancer, though it is different from your situation, it still hit home.  I thought of you and your hubby often and prayed for this for him.... Congratulations!!
