Peanut Butter and stitches

Why is it I always have 2 questions at once?  Sorry

Peanut Butter

I was told my my nut. to have some peanut butter,(with apples, YUMYMY)..... I am leary of this only because I am not sure which kind will not make me dump.  I have the all natural, but can't tolerate the taste, and the others have dextrose as the 2nd ingredient, which we are told stay away from...... I know I will get a faster response from you guys than the Nut. but.... anyhelp will be great....

Stitches

Well, I thought it was dry skin and I was messing with it and it was a stitch that surfaced and now I have it sticking out like 1/2 inch, what should I do til I see the surgeon in 2 more months? call and have them remove it or leave it be?  My PCP says to have them take it out because it can cause a secondary infection and not heal right.... but if its the kind that dissolves should I just leave it be?

Thanks
Chris

Peanut Butter:   From day one, I always used the plain old Jif Peanut Butter (per Annette at HF suggestion)  If you read the label, it actually has less fat and calories than some of the natural peanut butters.   I never had a problem with it.

Stitches:   I had the same thing.  It is a subcutaneous stitch, and is not holding anything together, I removed my own, but if you are not, you can go to the clinic at HF and they will remove it.

Hope that helps.     Carol

My original favorite peanut butter was Simply Jif.  I also can't deal with the texture of natural peanut butter, so had to find something that didn't have a lot of added sugar and fat... and Simply Jif is the closest to natural I could find... and it tastes just like normal Jif (which had always been my fav).

However.... because PB has so many calories, I didn't eat it often.  Nearly 200 calories in 2Tablespoons would be about 30% of my daily calories when I was early out.  Yikes!!   Then I discovered powdered peanut butter.  Oh my!!  It's called PB2 and you get it from www.bellplantation.com

Instead of 190 calories in 2TBP, you only get 53 calories in 2TBP.  Obviously it's powdered so you need to reconstitute it before you eat it as normal peanut butter - just use water.  Or you can add a spoonful of the powdered stuff to recipes or smoothies or yogurt.  My favorite recipe for dipping apples:

1 container Carb Master Vanilla Yogurt (Kroger brand)
1/3 pkg softened cream cheese
1 heaping tablespoon PB2
1 teaspoon splenda

Mix it up and dip in apple or any fruit.

For the entire recipe, here's the nutrition stats - divide by how many servings you use:
Calories: 307
Fat 16g
Carbs 12.7g
Protein 25.6g

Hey Pam,

You look great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good for you girl. Simply Jif is the best for us, we were told that by the nut art MMPC too. It is mostly all I ever eat in the way of peanut butter.  thanks for posting that recipe. It sounds great, I am anxious to try it.
