Good Morning All. I was hoping that I wasn't the only one up and at 'em. I had to work today so I rode to work with my BF and arrived an hour early due to some weird schedule they chose. I am drinking flavored water this morning to wake up my mouth. I'm looking forward to breakfast, I haven't eatten since dinner.
 I have 2 questions today:
1. What did you eat yesterday?
2. Are you going madhouse shopping today?

I ate some turkey, 1 small piece, some collard greens, about an ounce. A bit of macaroni and cheese, turkey dressing, and corn. This was a lot to list but very little went in.

No shopping for me today, just work and a visit to my mom's house.

Hey, Shug!  I had all the traditional Thanksgiving fare: mashed potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, turkey, a sliver of pumpkin pie and a sliver of lemon meringue pie.  I made my plate, ate about 1/2 of it.  That was around 1.  Then for dinner, I had the pie. LOL!

As much as I hate shopping the day after Thanksgiving, my hubby is going to Cabela's with his dad, so I'm heading to Jackson this afternoon with my mom-in-law.  Fortunately, she just wants to go to JoAnn Fabrics so she can make baby stuff!  LOL!  I don't exactly know where else we'll end up.  She's not into the "let's get to the store before the crowds", so at least I'm safe there.  LOL!

Hubby and I are going on a date tonight...dinner and a movie!  Can't wait!  Have a great day!  Tina

Shug,

I am at work this morning also, got here shortly after 5 a.m.  The mall was nuts, but I will say that Walmart and Kohls were much worse.

I actually have had 2 large latte's this morning, and had to eat some weight control oatmeal because the coffee was kicking my butt.

We had traditional family dinner, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, corn, rolls, salad and veggie try and cranberrys.  I had some of everything except the cranberry's, 22 grams of sugar for 1/4 cup, wasn't going to pu****   Had sugar free coconut cream pie for dessert.  Of course on all days, my tummy was sensitive yesterday, so I ate on the lite side of things.  Thats ok though.

Ready for a nap.

Pam

Hey Pam,

Sorry I chickened out about coming to the mall on BF. My DH were on our way home from my parents house and ran into backed up traffic in Clio. We thought there was an accident, then the BF thing at Birch Run clicked in( it scared me away from coming to the mall). We had turkey, sweet potatoe and apple casserole, french bread, stuffing recipe from the Rosie and Oprah cookbook, mashed potatoes. I just had the turkey, a bit of stuffing, mashed potatoes and a small piece of the multigrain french bread. We did not really have desserts, no one in our family really eats them anymore except my DH and dad. They did not eat theirs until way later. After dinner we just visited with my niece that is here from Florida. We have had my sister and her family here from Florida all month at different intervals. My nephew will be coming in next week from N.C.
Then my youngest niece and brother-in-law will be here for a few days. We are all rallying together right now due to my dad's latest diagnosis of 3 months left. He has had pancreatic cancer for the last 2 years and his latest CATscan showed that it has come back in force.
I am ready for a nap too, I am soooooooooo tired, we are off here in a lttle while to go back to my parents house for dinner. My niece is cooking dinner for everyone tonight, not worried though. She is a good cook and cooks very healthy.

Morning Shug and all...
Yesterday I made dinner at home and I WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN.  So much money and time for a few minutes of everyone pigging out.  We had turkey, two kinds of stuffing, mashed and sweet potatoes, sf jello, relish tray, banana bread, gravy, corn, and green beans.  Way too much!  But the guys did love it.  I had the jello and tiny piece of turkey.  Then I went to my grandma's and ate my mom's bean dip.  How's that for tradition?

I saw a woman on the 12:00 news today that summed up exactly why I don't go shopping today: This hillbilly woman at the Taylor Walmart says "This economy is bad, and they have to understand that we have kids and they have NEEDS".  Now this wasn't for food, or diapers, or warm winter clothes, this was for Wii games!  These tend to be the kind of people I encounter when shopping on BF, so I chose to stay home this year.  I hope those of you that went out didn't have to deal with too much.

DH and I are going on a mini date tonight because EH is in town and wants to come here to see the kids.  So we're running away for a little while.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!!!

I wouldn't have gone shopping today, either, had it not been for my hubby and his dad going to Cabela's.  They needed the GUY time.  So, shopping with MIL it was.  We puposely waited til 11 or so, so we could avoid some of the crowds, but things were still pretty busy.

I found this article.  It's a good example of the mentality of some of these crazy shoppers!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081128/ap_on_re_us/wal_mart_death
Shoppers, pushing into the store, were actually STEPPING OVER THE WAL MART WORKER TO GET IN!  CRAZY!  And they got upset when they closed the Wal Mart because the man died!

Hey!!

I was one of the crazy people up at 3 this morning. I wanted to look at winter jacckets at Pennys.. I went in and the store was packed.... But I did not get anything. I went to Kohls which I did not plan on and found lots of gifts at awesome prices.. the only problem is that DH and I stood in line for almost an hour.. But we saved 70 bucks just on one gift so that was awesome!!! We headed over to Target after that because DH just had to have the new guitar hero.. The line at Target was insane.. I thought we are never going to get one but we actually did!!! We waited in line just to get into the store and all the carts were gone when we got in... I got to go to Micheals to get a Cricut cartridge for my scrapbooking so I was ecstatic... Then I went for breakfast and headed home.

Yesterday I had a few pieces of turkey, small amount of mashed potatoes, corn, pickles, and then some apple salad...(very little it had pineapple in it) I made the desserts so a couple of hours later I was able to indulge in almost a whole half piece of Pumpkin Pie and some Apple Pecan cheesecake.. I did pretty well.

Overall it has been a great holiday.. I got to spend lots of time with my DH and now tomorrow we are heading up to Harrison to visit my Mom...I can't wait to see the snow...oh and we are stopping at Birch Run to see if we can find anymore christmas presents.

Have fun at work Shug! Sorry you don't have the day off!
