Scheduling surgery with Dr. Kemmeter

Hi, Everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has advice.  I have just completed my 6-month supervised diet to meet the BCBS requirements.  My PCP has sent her notes to Dr. Kemmeter's office.  I have called three times to set up the next step.  First, Nettie told me the notes would have to be reviewed by the practice internist and that they would call me.  No call came.  Now, a month later, I've called twice, leaving a message with Nettie's voice mail.  I am anxious to get the ball rolling but I'm getting nowhere fast.  Advice?  Thanks so much!

Are you calling Dr. Kemmeter's new office?  I can't remember if Nettie moved with Dr. Kemmeter or remained at MMPC.

Nettie did move to the new Grand Health Partners site.  Are you calling the 956-6100 number?  Her direct number is 464-4640.
I know there are very busy.  Be persistent.  I called her quite often until I got my surgery date.
Good luck
.

I have been calling the new number.  May I ask how long between the time you finished your requirements/testing and the scheduling of your surgery.  Good luck, by the way.  It's right around the corner!

I don't want to deflate your balloon, but it usually takes around 3 months to get a surgery date!

I guess the problem is that I can't get a response from Nettie.  Dr. Kemmeter gave me direction when I saw him.  I followed those instructions and when I talked to Nettie she basically blew me off and said she didn't know why Dr. Kemmeter would say those things.  If it takes three months, then it takes three months, but I expect the courtesy of a response to my inquiry.

I'm totally agree that you deserve the courtesy of a reply....gosh that doesn't sound like their office staff.  He told me it would take 2-3 months after I completed all my testing, ect.  and that was in early June, and my surgery was August 17th, so he was pretty much spot on.  He's the greatest guy in the world, and I so admire him.  He has given me a new life and a very healthy one.  I don't remember anyone by the name of Nettie.   If you feel you are being ignored you should contact the practice manager.....check their website for her name.

Good luck to you .....hope to hear soon that you have your surgery date.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Pat R.

I got my approval from the insurance company the middle of October and found out my surgery date quite soon after that.  I am very surprised about Nettie.  On the most part, she was responsive to me.  I did have to call her quite often just to check status but everything else was great
