Good Morning Michigan, There is a lot of people that have today off. My wife is one. Drinking the old stand-by and getting ready to run to Big Rapids and Mt Pleasant today . Shopping and picking up my rings .
I think it will be real hard to cook all the goody and not cheat. Try to stay in your best and not cheat. once on the hips and a long time to get it off.
Have a great  Thanksgiving and I will post on Friday
Enjoy the Holiday

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have never a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Thanksgiving and NOT CHEAT?  Where's the fun in that?  I'm stopping at Grand Traverse Pie Company on my way home today and buying two of their pies.  I don't "cheat".  I eat what I want, in moderation.  That's the key.  I refuse to live my life saying I will NEVER have this or that again.  It's not realistic, in my opinion.  But that's just me.

Anywho....off at noon today, then heading to my childhood home.  Get to see all the relatives this week and tell them the good news.  Should be fun!  Enjoy your dinners tomorrow!  Tina

I love Tina's take on things!

I made pies and sugared cranberries last night and will go home and make more pie and bread tonight.  Hubby is brining the turkey this afternoon.

The only bad part about Thanksgiving is my ex is coming over tomorrow to see the kids.  But, I'm the better person, and my spouse is cuter so I win!  LOL

See you guys!

I'm making pumpkin squares for my brother and I'll make green bean casserole for dinner at my inlaws.  That's all I'm making, this year!  For the last few years, I've done dinner for everyone at my house, but the MIL said I didn't need all that stress this year!  I didn't argue!  I'm looking forward to laying around and eating!  LOL!

Oh, 1/2 my class is absent today!  WOO HOO!  FUN DAY!  I just hope that we reach 70% attendance in the building!

I agree with Tina and Brenda.  Everything is fine if you do it in moderation and know your limits.

I made 4 pies last night and have 2 more to go, along with rolls and sweet potatoes.  My dear son loved making pumpkin pie last night, he used the apple peeler/corer/slicer to do all the apples for the pie.  He was very proud of himself.  Then he insisted that we make chocolate mini-muffins for his bedtime snack and breakfast today.  Thank god for Jiffy mixes.  It makes 12 mini muffins, and they don't hang around long.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Pam

Hi there... since we are in saginaw and my parents live close by in Freeland, we went out to eat last night, I only had a cup of bean soup, but anyone who lives near Freeland will know about Riverside rest.   They have pies that are no sugar added and I ordered a slice and cut that in half and me and hubby shared it.  I was SOOO nervous about the sugar, but nothing happened.  I was so happy that we bought a whole pie when we left because my MIL bakes everything with sugar and now I can have this for my dessert after dinner.....  :)  But I have to make sure that I cut my OWN piece, she cuts a 1/4 piece of the whole pie for one person, that is just stupid too me... No one needs one that large.  I didn't even when I could eat that much...

Anyhow, we are on our way home today, finally....

My back still hurts, still having kidney stones and the infection is still there.  I am not able to sleep the night through because of it, so I am tired....

Take it easy and have a great day today and tomorrow...

Chris,

Your weight loss is looking great.

If you bake at all, splenda will become your new friend.  I make all my pies and things with it.  My hubby is a cake fan, so I am working on some cake options for him.  Luckily he also like "fluffy" puddings, so sf pudding mixed with sf cool whip is also great to have on hand.

I haven't decided if I am going to tell my family which pies I made sugar free and which ones are real.  I want to see if they notice the difference.

I have heard that drinking natural lemon will help break down some types of kidney stones.  I have dealt with them before my surgery, and the are a pain.

Happy holidays

Pam,

There is a dessert that my family LOVES.  It's Strawberry/pretzel dessert.  Anyway, since I had surgery,  I make it with splenda, light cream cheese, sf jello, and lite cool whip.  NO ONE can tell the difference.  They gobble it up anytime I make it!  Last time I made it, I made one of each and my hubby could not tell the difference!

Hey Tina - I make that too!  I don't make it SF though .  I should try it though.

I am still trying to shake this cold.  It's moving down into my chest now.  My froat is hurting - burns.    I've got too much to do tonight and tomorrow to deal with it.  I already told my older daughter that she is going to be my Sous Chef.

Planning on showing up at Sears 5am for that flat screen tv on Friday.  Was there last night and told the guy what I wanted - he said he'd look for me.....  Told him I'd bring him Tim Hortons, Dunkin Donuts if he hold one of those flat screens for me...  We'll see....I guess I'll find out Friday if I will ever do it again.

Have a great holiday everyone!
