price of turkeys
Hi All
I live in Ontario and am considering going across the border to get a turkey this week. Here in London they are presently 2.50 a pound!!! I need one for this weekend as my husbands family are coming and I need a big one. Could anyone tell me the price of turkeys this week in Michigan? I have to figure out if it will save me money with the current exchange rate.
Thanks for any help!

Well let's see. The marriage license was about $5.00 (that was back in 1978) and the divorce was over $2,000 ( in 1989) so at a minimun it cost me well over $100 per pound . OH WAIT you aren't talking about THAT kind of turkey..
All kidding aside I have seen them for $.57 a pound at Spartan Stores. Saw Butterballs at Aldi's for about $.99 per pound. Kroger's same as Spartan stores. Others may have seen other prices.
Depends om where you are coming into the States from and where you decide to shop. From Windsor I would suggest any of the downriver 'burbs like Allen Park, Lincoln Park, Wyondotte etc. If you are coming across the Blue Water Bridge then I would say just about any store in Pt Huron would work for you. However from London to the US plus the crossing fares would probably eat up your savings. So before you come on over you may want to sit down and calculate if you really would end up saving anything.
Good luck though and enjoy your turkey dinner & family.
