what happens if you eat too much 4 days post op?

I was just wondering what happens if you eat too much 4 days post op.  I had a serving of oatmeal this afternoon and was able to eat the whole serving compared to two days ago when I could only eat 1/2  of a serving.  I did get shoulder blade pain which subsided after about 1/2 hour.  Did I cause any harm to the lap band?  This did show me that I really have to listen to my sense of fullness like the first couple of days.  Anyone with any input would ease my mind.
Thanks,
Larry

Is your band wide open or did they fill it at all? Follow your band rules...where did you have your surgery? I started with the band....

You will be able to eat almost anything at first as the sweeling goes down. As The fills start you will be restarting the full feeling. So please start your diet plans that the doctor put you on. You have the rest of your life to get used to it . So Enjoy your weight loss journey we will be here for you...

Thank you Randy and Maria for getting back to me so quickly.  I was worried that my band had slipped or something like that since my appetite seems to be coming back after just a few days post op.  I had my surgery at Henry Ford Warren Campus and I couldn't be happier with the results.  My Doctor told me that my band is pretty open so that must be the reason why I am not having problems eating.  I'm sure that will change once the fills start, right Randy?

It is nice to have someplace like this to get advice.  I feel like this was a good decision for me....I hope you feel the same way about yours.

Thanks for your support.

Thanks for answering my question Maria!  Randy....how long did it take for you to lose that much weight?  I've gained 3 pds. since going to the hospital but I had an allergic reaction to something the day I was released and now am taking steroids and benedryl for 10 days.  Maybe that is why the weight gain....my caloric intake has been between 600 and 800 calories per day.

Hi Maria,

Can I ask what made you switch from the band?

Larry,
I had many issues with my band...my band had issues with me :O) we did not like eachother.

The band will work the best for Men and people in genral that have less then 100 lbs to lose...or their BMI is less then 50. it's a fickle little thing...

Good luck!
Maria :O)

The two weeks prior to surgery are rough.  They are filled with emotions and hunger but don't give up...it will be worth it.  Keep that chin up!
