Made my choice

I finally made my choice for both surgery as well as surgeon. I'm a healthy 355 lb 64 y/o male that takes no medications for anything. My BMI is 51 and BC/Bs has already agreed to pay once I finish all my PAT's. I want gastric bypass and want it done by Dr. Taylor at the Barix Center in Ypsi. Are they the right coices. Anybody have good, or bad experiences at Barix and with Dr. Taylor?

I've never heard anything bad about him. Only good things. Have you gone for a consult? I have a Barix doctor. Dr Schram.

Yes Tyra! And I've had my Psych exam and having my cardio exam tomorrow. It looks like I'll be done by Xmas!!! That will be my present to my self.

I had Dr. Wood who is partners with Dr. Taylor, also Dr. Taylor did my scope and he is (as some on this board like to say) good people. In my opinion you are in good hands. I had a gastric bypass done in April and I am thrilled with my results, down 90lbs and at 199lbs. off all meds. and the cpap machine. My bypass was done at Harper in Detroit so I can't speak for Barix. Mine was done out of ABMI. - Mike
