Dr. K Krause?? I am getting tired of waiting. Help me please!
Has anyone went through Dr. Kevin Krause at Beaumont? I have met with him already but I am anxiously awaiting a surgery date. It's been around 3 weeks and I still have not heard anything. I called his assistant and she said that she'll call me once she gets my file back. What the heck does that mean? I'm getting a little inpatient.......I just want a date.
This is my first post to this site so.....................be easy on me.

I had my surgery 8/29 with Dr. Krause and I was on the phone just about every 3 days checking to see if they had a date for me yet. The office is VERY busy and so is Dr. Krause, but you do have to advocate for yourself. It did not take me three weeks to get a date.....so call back again! Are you dealing with Sue?
You know, he is truly worth the wait indeed. He is the best! I also got my date for surgery soon after my consultation, so maybe it is your insurance??? I would call and talk to Sue and politely explain your frustrations and ask her what the hold up is. She will tell you.....
Basically, you have to advocate for yourself and since it is getting hard for you to wait, call and find out what the deal is.
Best of luck!
Well, I hope he is worth the wait. I just spoke with Sue; she said that she just received my file back today from Dr. Krause. When I originally went in she did tell us all that they were really behind and that once Dr. Krause was done with the files she would send them out to insurance.
I can't be too upset because she did forewarn us and she was exactly right. It took three weeks. Now, I'll be waiting for her to hear back from my insurance company...........whew..........this seems soooooooooo long but she did warn us. I do feel bad for others because they were under the impression they would receive their date during consultation.
So, I guess I'll continue to wait............Sue said she is booking the end of December now.
I'm still a little disappointed..........I guess I'll be happy once I have an official date.

I HAVE ALREADY POSTED THIS BEFORE. BUT I REALLY WANTED YOU TO SEE IT.
:)
I don't want to be a negative person on this board. EVER. However since you asked I want to tell you about my experience at Beaumont. I spent over a year trying to get approved for surgery with them. Dr. Krause's assistant Bree lied to me several times. Especially regarding insurance. It got so bad at one point that Dr, Krause made her conference call me and apologize.
The Beaumont weight control staff is AWESOME. Especially Karen and Dr, Z - everyone there is supportive, loving and encouraging. Dr Krause is a great surgeon - he also has a great approach with his patients. But his office staff was AWFUL to me. I cried so hard once that I started to throw up.
After I made the decision change doctors - I contacted Dr. Krause and Dr. Z to let them know why I was switching. They both were very supportive and admitted to me that it wasn't the first time they had lost a patient because of Bree. Dr. Krause said that he was really trying to coach his staff on patient care but was struggling.
I just wanted you to know. I hope so much you have a better experience. Dr Krause is a great guy - he deserves a world class support team and just doesn't have it.
MMPC was able to get me into surgery within a month of contacting them. I had surgery in June and am doing great. Things actually worked out for the best for me. Take Care.

Thank you so much!! I appreciate your honesty and I needed it. Well, i've seen several post over this site about Bree but I'm not sure that she works there. I have not dealt with her at all. I'm dealing with Sue and she seems to be great. The one thing I can say is......she was honest/up front; she did tell me the time it would take to get the paperwork back. My mind just keep saying.....................it shouldn't take all this my God. whew.
Nevertheless, thanks for your post!!
