Plastic Surgery
Hi all of you fellow Michiganders!
I am 18 mos out from RNY and I am ready to start looking into plastic surgery. Has anyone out there has any surgeries performed by Dr. Sayeg in Troy? I am coming from Northern Michigan and would like keep the trips to a minimum. I am looking into getting a breast lift, getting my arms done and at least a tummy tuck if not an lbl. I would appreciate any imput from all of you that have gone through this.
Thanks,
Joni

Hi Joni I personally have never heard of Dr Sayeg I suspect he has not been in Michigan until recently. I have been to a Seminar for Dr Vincent DiNick I know he has extensive experience with bariatric patients the Seminar I attended was very informative we all saw before & after pics and a great question and answer session. I believe he also started the recon program at Barix out of Ypsilanti. Try getting in touch with Carey from this board she would have a ton of additional information regarding where and when the next seminar is going to be or a possible consult . I can also tell you most of his patients on here consider him an artist when it comes to reconstruction..
Hope this helps

Dear Joni,
Congratulations on your success!! You must be so proud of yourself!!!
Plastic surgery is something that you would consider taking time to evaluate, study, research, research and research some more on "WHO" you want to "SCULPT" your body.
Mileage should be the last con on your list when it comes to the very best in the business.
I know for a fact that everyone chooses someone near and dear to their heart for whatever reason and that is excellent. For some, having a surgeon closer to home is a preference. But when it comes to perfection, no one in the state of Michigan is as detailed and artistic as Dr. Vincent D DiNick, MD, DMD., of Barix Clinics @ Ypsilanti. I know. I've had him do all of my work, and I traveled about 2.5 hours 1 way each visit, for surgery, pre op, post of and for further post op care. He has the following qualities that far exceed any surgeon I know (however, everyone is entitled to their opinion and who they go to and that is their choice, so everyone else may suggest someone else and that gives you "options".)
I would recommend attending one of his seminars first off. Contact Carey at 800-282-0066 to find out when his next one is and see if you can attend. After the presentation, he is on hand to answer personal questions and you can meet him right then and there. Bring your husband, family and those who will be supporting you throughout this process.
Since I had WLS, I have had 4 surgeries done by Dr. DiNick. I had a TT, a scar revision from a seroma that wouldn't heal and he was adimate about fixing it so it looked perfect, he did hernia repair, (during the TT) I had a breast reduction/lift, and then a scar revision from that as I had a spot that didn't heal right. He again, being a perfectionist, this not his fault, I didn't heal just right, and he wanted it to look perfect. Each time we met, he gave me the "this is what I'm going to do, do you have any questions?" I wrote down lists upon lists of questions and just handed it to him. And he answered every single one.
Now, I am two years post op TT, and one year post op Breast reduction, and I have NO complaints. NONE. He has outstanding bedside manner, calms you down in the OR if you are nervous, his staff and attending OR staff, come out to meet you and make sure you feel welcomed, and when you go into the OR, you feel like you are welcome.
Post operative care he requires to see you several times for drain removal, check up on how you are healing, and above all, THAT YOU FOLLOW HIS ORDERS BY RESTING AND STAYING OFF YOUR FEET OR THE DRAINS WILL REMAIN IN LONGER THAN PLANNED!!!!!
I have referred several people to him and they love him. I believe that this surgeon, this man, is an artist, sculptor, kind and giving of himself in his field, cares deeply about his patients, wants to make sure you are doing well, and following his orders, keeps your pain level to a bare minimum, and one thing he does when you are done, that not many other Surgeons do, he provides you with a personal way to contact him ANYTIME YOU NEED HIM DAY OR NIGHT TO ASK ANYTHING AT ALL NO MATTER WHAT.....so that you know you are being taken care of. Name me any surgeon who does that.
I have had an overwhelmingly outstanding experience with Dr. DiNick and feel that you should make an effort to at least meet with him, and perhaps attend a seminar. Carey Poisson is his Administrative Assistant and would be honored to set you up with an appointment. He meets with patients on Saturdays, and sometimes the wait is long but HE IS SO WORTH IT AS SO MANY OF HIS PATIENTS WILL AGREE.
I cannot express the mileage I have put on my vehicle for him to take care of me but it is nothin compared to what I looked like then, as to what I look like now. Distance means nothing when you want the best. AND THAT HE IS.
Email me if you have further questions.
Sincerely,
Stacey Weiss

Wow Stacy,
You have me convinced. Frankly I had planned on seeing Dr. DiNick from the beginning. Then someone told me not to go to anyone who is not board certified. That is the only reason that I had thought about Dr. Sayeg. I have never ever heard one bad thing about Dr. DiNick though.
I will be calling his office today. Thanks for your answer and you have me convinced.
The added bonus of seeing Dr. DiNick is that he accepts my insurance (if I am lucky enough to have my insurance pay for anything).
Thanks again,
Joni

It is not enough for "me" to convice you.
let Dr DiNick be the one who convinces you.
He will talk to you about what he can do, etc. And what you can expect.
I highly recommend that you start writing out questions for him now, and take them with you- as when you have the appt, you may forget something you meant to ask, and then you leave, feeling-- oops, I forgot to ask.
Take a list. And I mean nothing is a bad question.
Best of luck to you Joni. I know you will be in outstanding hands.
