Looking for a primary care physician near Warren

Hi folks. I am 2.5 months post op (RNY) and I have just moved here. I have met with the post op doc at Beaumont Weight Control Center so I am all set for my surgical doctor, but I need to find a good primary care doc (internist or osteopath) who understands the issues we face. Do any of you know any of these to whom I have been referred, or do you have someone else you might recommend? Thanks so much!

You might want to call the Beaumont physician referral line.   Being that you are having our surgery at Beaumont, it would be good to have a physician that would have all the access to your records at the touch of a button.  It looks like you prefer a female.  Dr. Eckel or Dr. Hoban in SCS are both Beaumont Docs, and very knowledgeable and supportive about WLS.  There is also the Beaumont Medical Center in Warren, and SCS.   Carol

Thank you Carol. I already had my surgery back in Maine before I moved so I am just looking for a regular doc who has patients who have already had surgery and who is supportive. I will look into those you have suggested.

My primary care physician is in Troy at Square Lake and John R. His name is Shaun Syron. He totally supported my surgery and has backed me 110%. He works side by side with my bariatric surgeon and allows Hendrick access to all my records, bloodwork or anything that is needed.

I highly recommed him. He also has an associate named Stacey Beltz that is good too. You can look them up on the Beaumont website.

My doctor is located in Huntington Woods and she had weight loss surgery a few years ago.  She definately understands the struggles we are all facing because she has gone through it.  She has helped me and my sister-in-law get weight loss surgery.  I have recommended her to friends and they all love her.  I travel 45 minutes to see her because I think she is so great.  Her name is Valerie Johnson and she is with the Berkley Primary Care which is located on Woodward (just north of the zoo) in Huntington Woods.

I go to Jenna Lynn Wetzel in Roseville. She actually interned with my surgeon.

Shes so sweet and when I met her after my surgery she actually sat down and just talked to me about what I was looking for in a doc patient relationship etc.

I have a extreme doctor phobia and she made me feel very very comfy.

I just adore her and her staff is sooooo sweet and very accomadating!!
