I had my RNY June 30th this year at Royal Oak Beaumont by Dr. Krause and I had a wonderful experience from the Preop area to the Nursing staff on the floor... everyone was very attentive and always checking in on me.  I am a recovery room Nurse, so I know how things should go and Beaumont far exceeded my expectations.  Good Luck !!!!

Hi Lisa
I 'm currently looking for a surgeon to  do my RNY and I'm a ICU nurse and it's very reassuring when fellow nurse can give good review.

Thank you

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.  We use to do the RNY where I wor****il the McLaren system took over, so that is why I had to go to Beaumont.... but what made me feel very comfortable with Dr Krause is that he is the one who taught our Dr.s to do the Bariatric Surgeries and they couldn't say enough good things about him.... and now on the post-op side, I have to agree.  But the biggest thing that scared me about the surgery was having it at a place where I knew no one or how "they" do things.... but I can honestly say they did everything perfectly and above and beyond what we do at our facility which impressed me !!  So again, let me know if you want to chat anymore about it and Good Luck !!!!!

I had Dr Krause at Beaumont on June 27, 2008 and I too had a great experience.  He even came to see me on Sunday morning and that was after I already had the ok to be discharged.  Everyone is great!

Dr. Krause did my surgery a year ago at Beaumont. The entire experience was fantastic. From checking-in to checking-out everything was A++. Dr. Kruase was great and the entire staff at Beaumont was wonderful.  Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I have an appointment with Dr. Krause on Monday; so glad to hear such great things because I'm so nervous right now.

Whew..................feeling better already.

Thanks,

I don't want to be a negative person on this board.  EVER.  However since you asked I want to tell you about my experience at Beaumont.  I spent over a year trying to get approved for surgery with them.  Dr. Krause's assistant Bree lied to me several times.  Especially regarding insurance.  It got so bad at one point that Dr, Krause made her conference call me and apologize.

The Beaumont weight control staff is AWESOME.  Especially Karen and Dr, Z - everyone there is supportive, loving and encouraging.  Dr Krause is a great surgeon - he also has a great approach with his patients.  But his office staff was AWFUL to me.  I cried so hard once that I started to throw up.

After I made the decision change doctors - I contacted Dr. Krause and Dr. Z to let them know why I was switching.  They both were very supportive and admitted to me that it wasn't the first time they had lost a patient because of Bree.  Dr. Krause said that he was really trying to coach his staff on patient care but was struggling.

I just wanted you to know.  I hope so much you have a better experience.  Dr Krause is a great guy - he deserves a world class support team and just doesn't have it.

MMPC was able to get me into surgery within a month of contacting them.  I had surgery in June and am doing great.  Things actually worked out for the best for me.  Take Care.

Dr Krause and Beaumont were both wonderful, he saved my life in March of 2003.  Just one thing....if you take blood pressure meds, make sure before  you leave Beaumont you get a lower dose.  When I left I was on the same dose, I lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks and I had some passing out from low blood pressure.

I think the nurses didn't read Dr Krauses notes and didn't  tell me to cut my med in half.  Other than that....Its been 5 years and I am happy and doing well.

If you have any questions, please email me.
